What our customers say about their holidays
Matthew - Verified booking
We have stayed here on 3 other occasions.
It was always clean and tidy and Health and safety obviously taken in to consideration. It was therefore a shock to find that the old outdoor garden table and chairs were abandoned in the middle of the lawn. In addition it is really very bad workmanship on the new decking and garden table. Screw tips are sticking up on the garden table and if you were unaware and ran your hand across the surface it would rip your hand open. We had a four year old with us so had to keep him away from the table. In addition the decking you can see where the screws have been put in and actually miss fixing the decking all together. On the day of arrival we arrived one minute early but then waited for the lovely cleaner to leave. We then found that in the conservatory the floor was filthy under the chairs. This was not the standard it used to be and I feel sorry for the owners as I feel the property has been badly managed in their absence.

Stroan cottage was fantastic. it was immaculate and beautifully presented with super modern bathrooms, a lovely open plan living space and decent sized bedrooms. The wood burner meant that it was a lovely and cosy place to relax in the evening. I had a dog with me and the park just over the road was perfect, given that the cottage does not have its own garden. and the people I met on there with their dogs were really friendly. As a woman staying there on my own, I felt very safe and comfortable. The kitchen had pretty much EVERYTHING you could want on a stay away from home EXCEPT any kind of coffee machine. I had hoped that there would at least be a cafetiere for my morning coffee, but couldn't find one, which I was surprised at given how well kitted out the whole place was otherwise. Would highly recommend for anything from 1 to 4 people. Lovely place to explore from.

You can tell that this holiday cottage was until 2017 a family home, you really want for nothing here.
By far the best equipped cottage we have stayed at. Very pet friendly and you can tell that the owners are dog lovers. The locals and the nearby Gin Distillery were fantastic at helping us with advice when we arrived, there was a fair bit of snow on the ground and advice was given to drive the wrong way around a one way system to avoid a little hill which was impassable for our car, this did NOT in any way spoil our holiday but made us feel like part of a small community. There were a few items not working in the cottage but we made a note in the maintananc log, again none of this really caused any problems. We have already booked a return visit for November with some family members that have not had a holiday in years. We have no hesitation in recommending Corriemhor Beag to anyone, really loved the place.

We always visit Glenwhan Garden when we holiday in Dumfries & Galloway.
The Lodge, with its fantastic setting, means you have daily access to the Garden We had the pleasure of meeting Tessa Knott Sinclair the creator of this magical place. Our cocker spaniel loved her garden walks. The property is bright, airy, cosy and very well equipped - we had everything we needed for our weeks stay. The comfort, seclusion and peace make this a very special place. There is easy access to local attractions - including the Mull of Galloway, Port Patrick, Wigtown & the Isle of Whithorn and to other gardens including Castle Kennedy, Logan Botanical, Galloway House and Logan House. We could easily have stayed longer and will definitely be booking again.

We can only describe this accommodation as an absolute gem.
Set within the grounds of a beautiful well managed country estate, the Stables flat is spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and a very pleasant property. Sarah (the owner) welcomed us on our arrival and provided us with the information regarding the facilities both in the accommodation, the estate, and the local area. The flat equipped with everything we needed to have a really relaxed and cosy time, with glorious walks in the grounds to add "icing on the cake". We enjoyed ourselves so much that on arrival back home we booked to go back to The Stables for our anniversary in November.
