  My wife and I enjoyed an excellent week’s stay at Hotspur Cottage at the beginning of June. The pre-arrival packs and communication from the team at Coquet Cottages were outstanding and gave us everything we needed to prepare for our holiday. And we arrived at the cottage to find it absolutely perfect for our requirements, including a lovely welcome hamper, full of local treats. Hotspur Cottage is perfectly located in the centre of Warkworth, with plenty of free parking in the main square. The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything that we needed to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free. It is a perfect small bolthole for discovering Northumberland, with all of the main sites and attractions easily within reach. We walked every day; used the very frequent bus service regularly; and drove to further afield destinations like Bamburgh and Hadrian’s Wall. We will definitely use Coquet Cottages again!

  We’ve had a brilliant week here at Hotspur Cottage – made by the wonderful weather and the stunning scenery here in Northumberland. Plenty of walks all around, including Hardrian’s Wall at Hexham, Holy Island and all around Bamburgh. Fabulous castles up and down the coast but the best is here in Warkworth, especially with the free audio tour. The cottage is perfect and well done to Coquet Cottages for the brilliant service – nothing is too much trouble and the after-sales service is fab!! We used the X18 & X20 buses often as it saved driving. Our favourite restaurant was The Fish Shack in Amble – super fresh seafood in a gorgeous location. Thank you!

  This is our first visit to Northumberland and we enjoyed every minute of it! The cottage is lovely and very well equipped and we actually relaxed! The neighbors are friendly and helpful. The beach at Bamburgh is lovely and the dog loved it too – liked The Copper Kettle for lunch. Would highly recommend: Lollo Rosso in Morpeth – the lasagna was one of the nicest i’ve had! If you go, go between 5-6 it is happy hour. We went on Tuesday evening and by 6 it was really busy so best to book. Loved Warkworth – very pretty. Thanks for the lovely welcome pack – a very much appreciated special touch. Hopefully we’ll be back again.

  A fabulously comfortable and quiet cottage. There was birdsong all day and quite literally hopping hares in the field outside which were my personal highlights! We loved the coastline, the villages, the boat trip to see the puffins and seals on the Farne Islands. Holy Island was a special place as we’d hoped. Special mention to the charming National Trust volunteers at Cragside and Lindisfarne Castle – what a well told story. Hope all future guests have an equally relaxing and fun time. Thank you for the wonderful, well-thought out and generous welcome hamper.

  A beautiful cottage, very well appointed. Welcome basket very much appreciated after a 7 hour drive. Would recommend Bertrams for breakfast and the Masons Arms for dinner. Cakes at Topsy Turvey café (takeaway) delightful. Spent a lovely day at Alnwick Castle, the guided tour took you from William the Conqueror to the present day, then an afternoon paddle at Alnmouth (car parking £3.50). An evening stroll down the river to the Hermitage was delightful listening to the birdsong and looking at the wildflowers.
