  The property was lovely.

  In a central position, with pleasant views across the harbour, we would certainly consider staying there again. The property was smartly-furnished, with a better kitchen than many we have stayed in. We would have appreciated more lamps around the place, as the overhead lighting wasn't to our taste and there was also a lack of waste bins, but these are minor quibbles. However, our stay was spoiled by the horrendous building works taking place next door. On weekdays, the noise began at 08.00 and continued until around 17.00. We had constant drilling, grinding and hammering to put up with and had to keep the windows closed even on the hottest days and also kept the curtains closed due to builders on scaffolding. We are glad we decided to travel by train, as the garage was permanently blocked by builders' vans and JCBs so a car would have been no use to us. We strongly believe that this should have been made clear to us when we were booking: I accidentally found out that building was going on through viewing Streetview on Google Maps. I subsequently revisited the Dream Cottages website and saw reviews mentioning the building works. Searching the property's web page, I finally found mention of the building works at the very bottom of the page under "About the Location". As we know Weymouth well, we had no reason to view this section. I believe you deliberately chose to hide the truth about this property in order to avoid losing bookings and I found this very disappointing: our booking definitely wasn't worth paying over £1000 for the week in the circumstances, and we will have to reconsider staying with Dream Cottages in the future

  Had a brilliant week here.

  It was a great base and a short walk to the harbour and not much further to the beach. The company were quick to help with any issues we had which was appreciated they also followed up to check the issue was solved. It is a very spacious house and my boys loved having a garden to run around in. We were very comfortable and happy here for the week. Plenty of storage for clothes etc for everyone and the kitchen was well stocked. We were given a dishwasher tablet but there is no dishwasher, a washing machine tab would have great instead. A smart tv would be great too, although I appreciate this is a luxury that many could go without. We had to get a fire stick to keep my young boys happy in the mornings! There is a large selection of DVD’s and books for the grown ups to use. Overall cleanliness was good on the surface but could do with a little bit of a deep clean just to bring it up to scratch again but nothing major. Would definitely recommend it to others and come back again next time we stay in Weymouth.

  We enjoyed our holiday at Ocean Watch 1.

  The apartment is in a fantastic location and is nicely furnished. Unfortunately the cleaner was still at the property when we arrived just after 3pm and made a hasty exit. Once we’d unpacked the car and inspected the property, we found the kitchen, hallway and bathroom dirty. The kitchen counters, food cupboard and floor were covered with crumbs and there were numerous sticky spill stains on the floor which needed mopping. The bathroom ceiling was covered with dusty cobwebs and 3 resident spiders and the one soap dish available inside the shower got put our toiletries was filled with soap scum and water. We’ve enjoyed many years of holidaying through your company and this is the first time we’ve encountered such dirty accommodation. If it was simply a case that the cleaner had run out of time then we would have been more than happy to let her continue and make ourselves scarce for a while.   What can we say about Chesil Retreat, it was exactly that a lovely retreat.

  There is nothing we can fault about this property. The entire house was cleaned to an exceptional standard prior to our arrival. The owner contacted us prior to arriving and managed to have the house ready an hour and a half early which was brilliant. She also left our 2 young children a colouring book, pencils and some sweets each, not to mention a welcome basket which was a lovely touch. The amenities in the house were perfect and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beach accessories also proved a hit with our children. The location of the property was ideal for access to Weymouth and also Portland. We would highly recommend this property for those looking for a clean, well kept home away from home. To put it another way if we decide to have a holiday in Dorset again, this will be the place we will stay.

  We loved this house, it was clean and bright with absolutely everything you need.

  The two bathrooms were really handy with a great shower. There was a clothes airer, loads of garden furniture and all the glasses, knives, pots and pans you could possibly need in the kitchen. There were games and DVDs in the lounge, it was just great as a place to kick back and relax. It was a five minute walk to the lovely Weymouth harbour and the cafes and restaurants of Hope Square with the beach just another short few minutes up the road. We parked our car in the space provided and never needed it again. There's a corner shop just two minutes away for essentials (wine and crisps!) and a Tesco Express and M&S Food Hall in the centre of Weymouth with an Asda nearby if you want to drive and do a serious shop. We'd highly recommend this house. We had a great holiday
