  We absolutely loved our holiday in holmeside, the location and service we have received has been amazing. However there were just a few little loose ends along the way which could have made the holiday a little better had they been tied. • the communication through the welcome back was not consistent with the other information around the house. For example in the welcome folder it stated bins go out on a Wednesday - then as soon as you walk in there’s a sign on the coffee table stating the bins go out on a Friday (they do in-fact go out on a Wednesday we discovered). Just little inconsistencies in information which made things a little confusing. We also noticed the hot water did not have a cap - obviously hot water will be omitted from a hot water tap - however this water was at boiling point and resulted in my elderly grandma receiving burns (is this meant to be capped to a safer temperature?) The property is advertised as pet friendly and this was absolutely true in almost all aspects and it was amazing in this regard, however we noticed there’s a plant outside which is infact toxic to dogs (just to give the heads up to avoid any further issues with other customers - luckily we blocked this off and knew our stuff) Also in the ad it states there’s a Nintendo wii - on our last night we looked forward to using this as a family (brought our own games luckily as we couldn’t find any on site) but we couldn’t enjoy this as there wasn’t any controllers available for this?. however every other aspect of the holiday was brilliant - lovely property and amazing location. Just tiny little things which could have made it a little better. :)

  Holmeside is an excellent property for a large family group - there is a distinct lack of similar sized properties in the general area. It is well equipped, comfortable and tastefully decorated. This is the third time we have stayed here in four years and the high quality of the property has been maintained. The only downside, it's at the very end of a cul de sac on a housing estate - albeit a well heeled weekend suburb of Newcastle. To walk anywhere you have to retrace your steps to the end of the estate before you start going in the right direction, effectively a walk into the village to the pub or shop is in the shape of a large horse shoe. Okay if you are able or travel everywhere in the car but my octogenarian father couldn't actually walk far enough to get out of the estate. Otherwise this is a really good house and a good base for walking, water sports and sightseeing in this beautiful area.

  Spacious and comfortable and in an ideal location, only a five minute walk to a lovely beach.The house provided all the amenities a family could want. Kitchen was fitted with good quality appliances. The village has a good pub and an excellent cafe which serves good quality evening meals. Bamburgh is only a 15 minute drive away, so Homeside is situated in an excellent location for sightseeing the area. The ONLY negative was that throughout our week stay we had no internet connection. Apparently this was due to a fault with the sky box but wasn't fixed during the time we were there. This meant that making bookings / checking opening times was very difficult. However, if this fault is rectified I would recommend this property.

  Our party consisted of ourselves (two seventy year olds) plus our 3 children and their partners so the amount of space available at Holmeside was very much appreciated. We had two small dogs with us so the enclosed, spacious garden was excellent for them and was a great place to sit and eat out as the weather was really hot. The house is in a small estate but was very quiet (apart from when the bin was emptied at 3.45am on our last night!) and Beadnell is one of our favourite places to stay on this coast. It has a great beach and the walking in the area is good. It is also very convenient for visiting many attractions in the area.

  The property is comfortable and well kept. I would class it as cosy, the heating provided is more than adequate to keep it toasty, we visited between Christmas and new year and although it was cold outside it was lovely inside. The bedroom is small but again adequate. My husband, myself and our dog enjoyed our stay. It’s in walking distance to the beach and 3 different eateries. For the space I felt it was quite expensive however I don’t know if that is the going rate for the area. There is everything you need in the kitchen to cook for yourselves and a small welcome pack of eggs, milk and some bread rolls was a pleasant surprise.
