What our customers say about their holidays
Mr Graham Rock - Verified booking
Nice house, well furnished (tired in places) and convenient location for travelling around. Brilliant garden for the dogs to charge around. The house was however somewhat personal and the water pressure in both bathrooms was weak. An old greenhouse, and a pile of metal and wood in the garden should really be removed for safety purposes: there is a warning. Path behind house leads to a little woodland area, and then onto town, but runs past actively used fields for cows, so not really convenient to allow dogs off their leads. Another fair dog walk across the road (opposite the garden centre) leading to The Orchard was good, but you have to cut across a quite road within a housing area so again a limitation for dogs off leads, That said, Dunwich Forest wasn't far away, but we did see an adder whilst there so be careful. Overall, would we recommend and consider going again - yes. Note: coming from Halesworth, the house is on the right with a little lay by in front... the house name is covered up... if you get to the garage, turnaround!

We stayed at Twosome in Jan 2025, it was very pretty and just like the photos on the website.
The owner greeted us when we arrived and had made sure the cottage was nicely warmed for us when we arrived. He was friendly and very informative about places to go in the area. Lovely bottle of fresh apple juice and jug of milk was left out for us which we thought was a nice touch. The central heating is very good so no need for us to use the wood burner. However just a couple of things to be aware of ..as the property is dog friendly we had a very muddy dog most days after walking around the adjoining fields so by the 3rd day we had several wet muddy towels draped everywhere. We thought it might have been beneficial to replace the dishwasher what we didnt think was necessary with a washing machine. Plus a mop and bucket would have been handy to clean the floors as they are painted white.Cushions on sofa and arm chair could do with a freshen up but other than that a beautiful little country retreat.

A good base for exploring Suffolk & nearby is Halesworth - a pretty market town with a variety of independent shops & eateries plus a pleasant riverside walk.
The âcottageâ adjoins the ownersâ house and Jacqui came round to welcome us on the first day with homemade jam. A welcome pack was provided. The property is a listed building and it has been sympathetically restored whilst including modern comforts. Thereâs an area outside the cottage designated for the use of guests during their stay, part of much larger communal gardens, but it isnât obvious from the property description that it is not entirely enclosed and close to a very busy A road. Also the communal gardens have ponds & hidden ditches (part of a moat). The ownersâ dog and dogs staying at the other holiday cottages share the gardens. We were disappointed that we couldnât enjoy sitting out in âourâ garden with our dogs off their leads. If you have children they would also need to be supervised. If we didnât have the dogs with us we would have had a more enjoyable stay.

Honeysuckle Cottage provides excellent accommodation. The lounge/dining room is very comfortable and homely. It opens out onto a secure garden equipped with a picnic-type table (more equipment in the shed should it be needed) . The kitchen is clean and well equipped, utensils and cutlery are of a high standard. Upstairs the bathroom seemed newly refurbished and the bedrooms are good with plenty of cupboard space, for cases etc in the main room. The cottage is in a quiet area overlooking a green. Parking, for really only one car is a little tight. We were able to find alternative parking for my daughter’s car. Halesworth centre is just down the road. There is a very pleasant pedestrianised area with independent shops. There are several walks around the area and leaflets in the house describing these. It is a good centre for visiting other places in Suffolk.

What a charming and peaceful hideaway. We spent a very relaxing week walking and exploring the Suffolk/Norfolk countryside, returning to White Horse Cottage with all the comforts of home. The kitchen was more than adequate with everything you could wish for and the King size bed was so comfortable. The cottage was spacious, beautifully furnished with ample storage and a lovely large bathroom with a walk in shower. We have never been to such a well-equipped holiday cottage before. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed garden which was very pretty with flowers bordering, and the outside table & chairs and sunbed were well used as we had glorious weather. Our hosts were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and the welcome pack was splendid with all local items. Definitely a place we will return to.
