What our customers say about their holidays

We had a lovely week with our dog in this cottage at the end of April.
It's attractive, comfortable and well-equipped, and the sand and shingle beach is just a few minutes' walk away, so it is wonderfully situated for long walks with the dog, either along the coast or into Lowesoft. The area is quiet but there are shops and takeaways conveniently nearby, and also an interesting art gallery. The thatched church is also worth a look round, if you're into old buildings and local history. (There are also several pubs around, but we never went to any of them so I can't comment!) The owner, who lives nearby, was very helpful but not intrusive. The house was warm, and the woodburning stove was an added bonus for the still chilly nights. The bed was comfortable, although proper reading lamps for both sides of the bed would have been appreciated. I would concur with other reviewers that the stairs are a bit steep, but perfectly manageable unless you have a mobility problem. Those with mobility issues should be also be mindful that the bath is quite high-sided to step into when having a shower, and that there is no in-bath mat to prevent slipping. All in all, it was a lovely place to stay and I would recommend it.

Did a last min booking for a few days here early October.
We were really happy with the property. Good for parking. It was really well maintained and very clean with good quality linens and furnishings. Lovely comfy double bed ( also good sized bunk beds in 2nd bedroom but just used this room for out bits n pieces) good sized shower. A lovely seaside theme running through. Bright and modern. It had a private footpath close by leading to steps down to the beach. It was a great base for visiting places along the coastline, Aldborough thorpness, Southwold, beccles, Orton broads. We did so much walking. It is quiet in kessingland beach but does have a nice pub restaurant and fish and chip shop within 5-10 mins walk. Thank you for the lovely welcome items. The only thing was there was no Wi-Fi/broadband. We Had a really lovely chilled out few days and would love to go back again. Thank you June Royce & christine

I must agree with everyoneâs review it is a lovely cottage love the decor and itâs comfortable .
Bus stops just up the road donât really need a car , the is within a 5 min walk found an art gallery which was amazing . The Jolly sailor is great for dining out with sea views . So all in all a great place to stay to explore the area. One thing cut our stay short 3rd day in we found dog fleas up in the bedroom with an odour of dog until then we had all windows open day and night so never noticed the odour . We decided to leave the next morning I contacted the owner who said they would sort this out but I knew this could not be sorted in within an hour or so .They did apologise but as we had already left couldnât do anything for us . Sykes said the same thing . We have been renting properties with Sykes for many years now this was the first time this has happened to us . Sykes never got back to us regarding this matter :(

A lovely clean and comfortable chalet.
The view is beautiful and made the 9 hour trip from Cornwall worth it! Double bed very comfortable and lovely to see the bedding so beautifully ironed. Iâd recommend cleaning the kettle with limescale remover regularly due to the hard water. We didnât use it because it was flaking off in chunks. Sofa very comfortable, as it was just the 2 of us we didnât need to use the chair. Fridge suitable for the 2 of us as we didnât do any real cooking as we were there to visit friends and ate with them. Shower was great, lovely and roomy. Great to be able to use a washing machine and the oil filled radiators warm up really quickly to take the chill out of the air. We were able to sit out in the sun (even in November) and watch the ships pass by. We would like to come back next year.

The chalet itself is immaculate.
Itâs clearly very recently renovated - itâs pristine, and feels fresh throughout. The bed was very comfortable (though the sofas not so comfy). The kitchen had everything we needed, and the board games and DVDs were perfect for a two night stay.â We were disappointed on arrival to realise this was not a seaview chalet. We feel the Vrbo listing strongly implied that it was. The first photo was of a full sea view. Photo 14 showed the front of the property and was immediately followed by Photo 15 showing the sea view (this photo turns out to have been taken in the village). The property is called Dollyâs Lookout but it âlooks outâ on nothing except other chalets.
