  What can we say!

  ! From booking to leaving , everything was brilliant! Alex was there to greet us and gave us lots of good information . A holiday let that has so obviously been created to an exceptionally high standard, with everything you need , the outside area is so relaxing, with the added addition of the hot tub to end the day looking up at the stars. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, with a little welcome pack of bread , butter, milk, tea,coffee and sugar and of course a bottle of fizz to enjoy in the tub . The living room area has a huge comfy sofa with side tables and a smart TV . The bathroom has a good shower , very modern and with huge comfy towels. The bedroom is large with a very comfy bed, with great quality bedding,2 towelling dressing gowns and plenty of storage space. The Goose Nest was cleaned to a very high standard ,and to say it’s right in the middle of the country side, not one speck of dust! amazing!! The views are stunning and you can see them from every window., have your camera at the ready for the beautiful sunset. The location is fab, everywhere is close enough to get to, Worstershire and Cheltenham are well worth a visit .   We found this lovely little lodge to be very pleasant for our family (2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs) for our short stay in Ledbury.

  The landlady was so helpful with regards arrival time and we found the lodge to be clean with some very thoughtful touches (kids were impressed by the nice biscuits and crisps that were waiting for us). The location was excellent as it was only a short walk to the station, to the town, and up the hill into the woods. We did find the advert to be slightly misleading as we thought we’d have an orchard to walk round but were told that wasn’t part of the property. However there was a small garden area for the dogs and the woods were 2 mins away as mentioned already. We personally wouldn’t choose to stay again as a whole family because our teenagers were really too old for the bouncy bunk beds and we would prefer 3 bedrooms if we stayed away again, but if you have younger kids, or are a couple on your own, this would be absolutely fine. If hubby and I were venturing off on our own with the dogs we’d come back to this lodge for sure. The sofa in the living room was really comfy, the outlook is very pretty and we had no WiFi problems contrary to the reports of other guests.

  !!! Alex, Lee and all the family (chickens and sheep included....) have been literally the nicest hosts we have ever stayed with. After spending many staycations in the UK over the last few years, as we all have, it has been a pleasure to meet so many wonderful people along the way and stay in some amazing places but we both think that this is the best place we have ever had. So warm, so welcoming, the finish on the place is amazing and with all luxury add ons. Coffee machine, fresh plums from the orchard, eggs from the beautiful chickens, it is literally the thing that dreams are made of!!! Believe me. The location is fantastic, the shops are near by and everything is easily at hand. The view from the garden at night is amazing, get a great view of the stars at night, sitting in your secluded hot tub with a glass of fizzy. What could be better??!! Really can't recommend the Goose Nest enough, if you're lucky enough to stay here, you will understand exactly what I mean. God bless you all and thank you so much. Judy and James

  I found the property easy to find and the owners welcoming.

  The cottage is ideally positioned for exploring Ledbury and surrounding areas as well as easy access to rail and bus services. There was a good dog walk called the Town Trail which took you into Ledbury. The cottage was clean and has clearly been well used as it was little tired in places and would benefit from some upgrading e.g. replacing the sofa as the cushion support has gone on one side, better cutlery, condiments and perhaps a new cooker although this works perfectly well. I found the sink in the toilet too small to wash in so had to use the kitchen sink - but not a problem for me. One factor which I did find a little concerning was the property is directly opposite Sequani - a research institute which is involved in testing on animals. There were some protests outside the facility for short times on some days. As an animal lover - I probably would not have booked here had I known. However I had an enjoyable holiday with my dog and am grateful for the property owners hospitality.

  We had a full week here & really enjoyed our stay .

  The effort put in by Alex & Lee is paying off . We were made very welcome & the welcome pack was very much appreciated. My wife is a stroke survivor which has left her with mobility issues so it was vital that our stay was suitable for Sandra’s needs . I’m pleased to say the Goose nest ticked all the boxes . One level , wide doors , everything close to hand and accessible which makes this holiday home inclusive for everyone . The week went too quickly but we will be back . Thank you so much for providing us with a much needed break with great hosts . Our pet dog Tom loved his walks in the beautiful surroundings. We will be back . Thank you from Sandra & Fred
