What our customers say about their holidays

A lovely location, very easy to find, with a lovely lake and large garden.
Any criticism here is intended to assist the owner, who we never met, but don't let it put you off staying, as we had an enjoyable stay. There is one larger bedroom with an ensuite shower room and another with three single beds, two very close together, with a bathroom, which I assumed was meant for children. We asked for single beds and we were allocated the children's room. Upstairs is a lovely large kitchen / living room, which was very comfortable. There were sufficient plates, cups, etc. a welcome pack of cookies, a cake, and milk in the fridge, and a voucher for the local farm shop. The grounds had plenty of places to sit and relax. It is shared with other residents who, in our case, were out all day so we had the sunny garden to ourselves, although a pump was going all day long in an adjacent field on one day and on another there was loud music from somewhere and that did spoil the peace and quiet that we had hoped to find before we went off on the next leg of our trip. Mind you, as the holiday properties are on a farm I suppose we should have expected noise. As for the accommodation it was very comfortable, mostly clean, although the windows and oven could have done with some attention. There is a laundry room, which needed a good clean, for example the tumble dryer filter was full of fluff (which I cleaned out) and the sink and room in general was grubby. As a previous review said, there was no hair dryer, so I took my own, and plugged it in fhe hall. An iron and ironing board in the cottage would have been more convenient too. Overall this is very comfortable accommodation, great for a family, and the other cottages had families in them who enjoyed using the BBQ and outside space. We would return to the cottages the next time we drive through that area, although we would probably stay in one of the single storey cottages as I have some mobility issues and found the stairs to the living room difficult to walk up, but that was my fault in not reading the description fully before booking.

We had a great time at The Hollies.
It was well equipped and the kids loved table tennis. The benches at the dining table were a little precarious for the kids (aged 9, 10 and 12) when they tried to pull them closer to the table. One in particular would rock forwards if not careful. A couple of normal chairs would be helpful for ease of use for those of us who are quite arthritic. The round handles on the doors were really tricky to grip and turn for my arthritis - not a complaint, just if we stay there again, I will take some sort of arthritis aid for opening such doors. I would love to see some extra drawer storage in the main bedroom as there were only 3 small drawers and then just hanging space in the wardrobes. Also, the beds are quite high, which is fine, except for the shorties amongst us, itâs a bit of an issue to sit and get socks on, so a chair in each bedroom would be really helpful. The location was great and peaceful. Lovely beaches nearby. Really enjoyed our stay and would consider returning in the future.

This traditional cottage is set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside is clean, compact and comfortable. There are lots of places within close proximity of the cottage that can be visited easily by car. These include the towns Beccles, Southwold, boat trips along Oulton Broads, the Anglia Transport Museum at Carlton Colville and various beautiful beaches that have area specific for dogs to enjoy themselves too! The beaches are not within walking distance of the cottage. Our hosts Martin and his wife were very friendly and hospitable and it was lovely to spend time on their farm and to be shown round and meet the animals too. The quality of the food at The Swan, at Barnby (20 minutes walkaway) was very good and competitively priced. I can recommend the Mutford Cider made by Martin, some of which returned back to London with us! We had a lovely holiday at Dairy Cottage.

The cottage was very clean and well presented being located in a very tranquil , rural setting much to our liking. The sheep , pigs and chickens were amusing to watch at times and gave an added interest to the cottage. Owner was very helpful with any issues raised being speedily resolved. His local knowledge which was useful for giving us a good insight into the local area.It was our first visit to Suffolk and we really enjoyed the area.We visited Southwold , Beccles , Bressingham Gardens and the East Anglia Transport Museum, all of which are thoroughly recommended. The Swan Inn at Barnby has an excellent restaurant as well as serving excellent cask ales. Ownre pointed out that it's possible to walk to the Swan across the fields in about 20 minutes, which we did a couple of times. Thanks for providing a good base for our very enjoyable holiday

Very lovely bungalow with excellent views out to sea.
Good facilities and small but useable kitchen. Having a bathroom and shower room was helpful - just have to watch the door seal and bath screen seal as if not in place can cause both showers to leak. The weather in March was a little chilly and using panel radiators and towel rails kept a steady temp around 16 to 18 C and the electric fire topped up if a little chilly. The conservatory was perfect for sitting in the sun for lunch. If you like fresh fish the world of fish near Morrisons a 7 min drive away is excellent. The more local shops about 5 mins walk away are good with bakery, chip shop and co-op. Great communication with the owner and easy to access. Hope to return again. Also the local church has recently been completly re-thatched and can see it easily if you take a walk around the area.
