We were lucky with the weather there were only a few light showers during the week. It was nice to sit out in the garden and relax a perfect place to unwind. The children had a swing and big garden to run around. Pond was a great feature kids loved it. One evening we lit the log fire nice feature and added a nice touch to the property. I have to say the ensuite shower is amazing.   We have just returned home from Orchard Lodge as a group of 6 including 2 children and 2 young dogs.

  The below sums up our experience: Spacious lodge, Nice welcome binder with information on the lodge and local area, Nice amount of parking available on shared drive with us having two cars and the other accommodation having 2 with still plenty of room. Very well equipped with good kitchen supplies and family activities. TV with a Netflix account and on demand however no live tv, Brilliant set up for dogs with fully enclosed garden however an apple tree on left hand side of the lodge had a lot of fallen apples. With young dogs this wasn’t ideal, however we used a spare piece of fencing to block the gap near the hot tub which meant the dogs were not able to get to the apples (as poisonous to dogs). As a suggestion a permanent fence or gate to avoid this would be helpful. The living room area was carpeted and was a bit grubby, having wipe clean flooring in this area would be more hygienic. Bbq and outdoor furniture/decking wasn’t very clean and covered in bird poo. Dog poo in garden when we arrived. Large hole dug in garden. Wi-Fi is really temperamental and doesn’t reach well to back bedroom. I think this could be easily resolved with a Wi-Fi extender. However it also stopped working completely twice during our stay and can only be reset in the other holiday let. The hot tub is a massive bonus for the lodge. It was set to 39 when we arrived and keeps its heat extremely well. The lights are a nice touch and add to the atmosphere in the evening. We did have a few issues with the hot tub at one point but messaged the number provided and they quickly sent someone out to sort it. Overall we had a lovely time. The small things mentioned didn’t affect the holiday just some suggestions for future. We would recommend the lodge to anyone looking for a reasonably priced dog friendly lodge.

  This is a very attractive property in a superb position on the site.

  It's at the top of a steep hill, but this means that it is secluded and quiet (nothing behind it but a bank with wild flowers, then trees, and the lodge in front is completely hidden by the slope) and the wide view over the sea, the estuary and Borth is quite special. The lodge is extremely well-appointed, furnished in a modern style, sparkling clean and very comfortable. My friend and I chose it partly because I'm disabled, we're both old and it had a ramp rather than steps, but be warned, it's a very long ramp and getting the luggage in was still hard work - not a problem for normally fit people, obviously. One tiny niggle, born out of the high quality of the appliances. Having less sophisticated ones at home, we were a bit bemused by the controls on the cooker/microwave and the dishwasher and there were no instructions; a little list of icons and their meanings would have been very useful! The friendly and concerned owner tried really hard to communicate with us before and during our stay. Unfortunately for both parties, it all landed in my Spam folder, so believe the Sykes site and take their advice to check your spam! Because we didn’t receive the instructions we'd been sent to guide us through the site, we asked for directions at Reception and were told, oh that's the best spot on the site. It was, and we recommend it thoroughly.

  <span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 12pt;">&ldquo;A great home from home in a tranquil setting&rdquo;</span><br /><br><br />This is our second stay at the lodge and am pleased to say everything was just as good as we remembered the first time. From the friendly welcome, to the welcome basket of local produce right through to the high quality accommodation and the lovely setting the property provides a perfect escape from the rest of the world. Rarely have we found a holiday let with such a high class finish with a contemporary yet homely feel. The garden and local walks were great for the children and on the very wet day we had, the log burner, the table football and the very well stocked games cupboard game in very handy (as did Sky TV and the wifi connection i am ashamed to say). <br /><br><br />The Lodge is perfectly located for exploring Mid and West Wales and this time we made it down the Gold Mine just a few miles away. Overall a first class experience, I would say a real home from home - just my home isnt as good so i would be doing it down!!!<br />
