*WOULDN'T STAY AGAIN* The location is great!
BUT.. A BIG BUT! See other reviews? We can't all be wrong? The house wasn't cleaned properly from previous guests. Again! At this price point of 2-5k a week? You want/expect a sort of luxury. Right? That isn't what we received unfortunately. These are NOT limited to ALL our issues. 2 brown ( poo ? ) stains on a towel I washed my face with. Absolutely vile! I keep replaying it. Why was it there in the first place & not thrown away? I had to use my own beach towel all week. I didn't tell my children or they'd of not used the others. Amongst so many other things I kept to myself. Hairs from other people & bits of toilet roll in the washer and door. I gagged. Plus it smelled. ( it needs sanitised so didn't use ). Coffee maker not working. We have this same one. Dish drainer had actual rust on the entire bottom. I said I wouldn't use it as I didn't want a u.t.i from placing cups on it. Wads of hairs in the Dyson and a dirty container from previous guests. ( didn't use ). No salt in shaker, but leftover salt inside it & still dirty. I wouldn't of used it at this point, but why was it there? Under the sofa & cabinets/drawers had food and bits in them. I.m.o one of the bits looked like a hard booger. Gross! Loads & loads of food/dust/hairs on the floorboards/atop doors and lights. Massive stain on the corner of sofa/chairs furniture and walls throughout. Stain/old mark on the sheets. Again.. Why was it put back on? It was very visible. Closet door didn't open properly & nearly broke from being stuck. Lamp stopped working in one of the bedrooms. Toilet in the downstairs shower room was going to snap off wall after 1 use. Before you come @ me, my husband was a certified plumber. ( didn't use ). Speaking of toilet, one toilet plunger ( didn't check the rest folks sorry as I couldn't stomach it), had water and toilet "bits" still inside it from the last guests. Nice touch. Buzzing noise all night. ( not the sauna ). Had to download Spotify to drown it out. You have nearly no service in the house either, nor can call out inside the house. Even on your 4g. I still don't understand that. Wifi is weak so said Spotify shut off every few. No Freeview for Sky Glass nor can you watch "Sky Glass" Whats the point as others previously also said? A normal t.v would suffice. The sofa smelled of actual man sweat. Why not Febreeze it at the very least? I honestly didn't sit on it as I felt so grossed out. If the state of this place was like this after day 1... Then I just kept thinking... What more is there unseen, ect? It made me feel sick. Am I the one in the wrong to expect better? Than so be it folks. So be it. I'm the one wrong. If you like cleanliness than this house isn't for you. I do expect better. I too have never written a poor review once in my life & dislike even having to do this. I feel I may have skipped this review if Sykes would of rectified my issues in some minimal way, ( have you spoke to Hannah they kept stating? I just kept repeating myself ). But they haven't reached out. So here we are. I do now feel others ( YOU ) & the owner of the property should see and know my honest review. Housekeeping did show up after I wrote my complaint. I did in fact try to ring the numbers given, but with zero answer. Once I finally got through, I went on the balcony to do so. As no service as if the house is nade of steel. I didn't get through. So, I wrote to Sykes. On my holiday. Daily I reckon. Fun! *sarcasm* After the initial few attemps and emails, Hannah the manager as I'm aware, from housekeeping arrived unannounced at NIGHT mind you. I was in the shower and with my poorly little one. Putting me in a quite uncomfortable situation. Asking my husband and myself to "show her the issues." What were the issues? My husband said he was so taken back and caught off gaurd that he barely even listened. He and I also wanted to enjoy our holiday & didn't try to ruin it by discussing issues in front of our children. So, he wasn't aware of all mine, and I his. If that makes sense? Again, it was awkward when she arrived and at night. We are on holiday, poorly children, and very tired. He was people pleasing by nodding & being polite he said. End of. He now in hindsight wished he would of told her to kindly leave. What more was there to do? Unannounced? Clean then & there? It was your housekeepings/managers fault. No? Plus the house needs updating. Clearly that is not housekeepings fault. But 100% the quality of the clean, and hygiene issues. I wasn't about to point it out to her. I find that rude as well. But rather write to Syke instead. I did so the ENTIRE WEEK of my holiday & also took/sent photo's. It exhausted me the back and forth to be perfectly honest. It took time from my holiday & my family. Thanks! Would they have cleaned then & there by chatting to housekeeping? Honestly, still perplexed by that bit. The back & forth of emails to resolve this + all the issues has ruined the holiday like I say & others, so see for yourself. I have recieved nothing than this review after arriving home 1 day ( nearly 2 now ) and nothing has even been attempted to be resolved nor replied to me. Again, the housekeeper showed. But what was I to do with that? Go see her in my poo stained towel? Then to come back and offer a clean? I mean... I wouldn't stay here again sadly. It is soooo unfortunate as it's in a lovely location. My child also said the house was dirty. "From the mouths of babes" they always say folks eh? Nor would I use Sykes again after this first and last time. Such a shame. As other reviews state. I'd stay in a hotel, or Airbnb.

Fantastic week over Easter in this gorgeous house in a perfect location.
As a big family of 8 we can struggle to rent holiday places which are big enough, right amount of beds, bathrooms and dinning table, but this place had it allâ¦.. 3 toilets! A must for a big family, spacious bedrooms and large dinning table for dinner and lots of family games, and all with a beautiful view of the beach and sea. The kitchen had everything we needed, the 2nd TV room was great for when the football was on (Only the boys wanted to watch that) The hot tub was a hit, even the cold bath was used by the kids! It was everything we needed and more. The host was fantastic, with a very detailed welcome e-mail, and a hi, weâre here if you have any issues check-in, and happy to say we had no issues, we loved the whole week. The kids LOVED the beach right on the door step, the husband was even more impressed with the pub on the edge of this beach (Mermaid Inn) which had some lovely bar snack, perfect for munching on after hours in the sand and sea. Newquay town center is only a 15-minute walk along a beautiful coastline with a number of other coves (beach, Sea and pub/restaurant) The town itself had a number of high street shops as well as independent shops and bakery. The harbour beach was a favorite for the little one, as there were no waves, we did try a bit of crabbing, but didnât manage to catch any. The older kids did some water sports with Newquay Activity centre - Coast steering along the cliffs which they LOVED and some surf lessons on Fistral beach, which has sightly harsher weather conditions then the other beaches, I believe perfect for surfing, not that I tried it myself! there has since been chatter about buying a surf board! We did walk the other way along the costal path to Watergate Beach, which again was beautiful, loads of facilities and some very nice freshly made pizzas. We did a day trip to the Eden project, and the zip wires they had on offer, which was only a 30 min drive away, apart from that we stayed local as there was so much to do, and we didnât even get around all the different beaches! Looking forward to coming back next year

The issues I had with the experience: - Someone from your team accidentally wrote my email down wrong in the info to the property owner, however had the correct email to send me booking confirmations.
When I called to discuss (an issue I donât remember now) your colleague realised and said they had then corrected the email. I then never received a welcome package for. I then found after being at the property for a few hours, this wasnât the case, the email was still recorded incorrectly, and the info pack had been bouncing due to incorrect email, and I hadnât been contacted to rectify the issue. on our check in day we realised after searching the whole property there was no welcome pack, and I spent the next hour and a half (until 7pm) calling your company trying to resolve it, but somehow the issue was still unresolved even though my email was on file with your company, and you had my number. I then couldnât get through until much later than it said your office was open the following day, and when I finally got the email at 3:20pm(on the Sunday), it meant we missed out on using the spa facilities, and having any Wi-Fi or really phone signal & 3g, for 24hrs. - The next issue (that is maybe more to do with the property owners), was the sauna was not working for the entire time we stayed at the property, except for about 30 minutes on the second evening after many attempts. We kept trying various different options Almost every hour for days, to find out it was broken and needed repair. This is obviously very frustrating and took up a lot of time energy and stress into the holiday. Now I understand this wasnât intentional, but I feel itâs more than fair to be compensated for the issues that we did everything we could (and more) to resolve. We feel a partial refund of £223 (the equivalent of only 1 day of 7, even though we only stayed for 4 nights) from our payment of £1557 is a very fair solution and the very least we feel is fair, as it genuinely put a lot of strain, issue and restriction on the holiday as a whole.

Recently returned from chi am mor .
property was as advertised in a fabulous location , with short walks / drives to many beautiful beaches , which is exactly what we wanted . House was clean and tidy on arrival , it was well equipped with most utensils and there was some lovely little extras like . nice loaf of fresh bread , some milk , lovely scones , jam and clotted cream which was all yummy , and a couple of treats for our little dog . there was also a bottle of washing up liquid which was all well received.( thank you very much) The master bed which was 2 beds zipped together was very comfortable and quite spacious ( we both slept like a log ) . overall we had a lovely stay in a house which was in a fabulous location . There was a few minor negatives , which we would not want , to put anybody off booking this property . there was no hammock in garden , which we would not have used so did not bother us and there was no barbeque which we would have used but to be honest was no inconvenience . but would advise this is pointed out to other potential renters . The wood burning hot tub was nice , but needed too much baby sitting and attention on this point and this point only we would probable not return , as we prefer a convectional hot tub , ( as with a hot tub . you would return from a nice day out , put some bathers on and just have to jump in and relax , with a glass of wine ) . instead of having to light a fire and wait for a couple of hours . We would like to finish on a high as the property is very nice and in a stunning location , the couple of minor negatives in no way spoilt our holiday we still had a ball .

We were sceptical about the property based on previous reviews, but were pleasantly surprised when we arrived.
The house was clean on appearance, but having 2 young grandchildren with us, we did have to hunt for lost toys under furniture etc throughout the week - and I would say these were not pulled out and hovered under/ dusted for some time! Though this did not impact our stay. I think important for the owners to know. The hot tub is definitely not being maintained properly. We have a hot tub at home. It appeared clean (apart from a few bits of debris/sand which youâd expect) but after just one use , the water started to go stagnant (green and smelly!) on Sunday / Monday. My husband checked and cleaned the filter (it had clearly not been cleaned for a considerable period of time) and we brought some chlorine with us from home (based on previous reviews) so were able to use again the next day! A contact number for the maintenance people or advice in the property booklet and access to chemicals would be helpful here! Every other property weâve stayed in send out a maintenance clerk to check the levels at least once during our stay. Again did not impact our stay, but Iâm not sure what agreement the owners have but worth checking? Being Christmas and a large family we had a LOT of recycling. We tried to take it to the local recycling centre but as non residents were not permitted to use the facilities. Again some information on where to leave this in the handbook would be helpful here. Other than these few things, the house was well decorated with lovely furniture, and kitchen had everything we needed. Great location!
