  We will most likely take up the offer and hopefully be able to extend it to two weeks. We had another fabulous holiday at the Moorings, having previously stayed there on 4 occasions between 2005-2008. It's a lovely house which holds lots of memories for us of some great holidays when our kids were toddlers. The house has a lovely relaxed feel about it and is in a great location for the village shops in Rock and nearby beaches. It was great to be back and now the kids are older we spent a lot of time on Polzeath beach bodyboarding. The garage space was really useful for storing our kit and the rear garden is perfect for BBQ's and for games on the lawn. We've spent the last few years camping in France and whilst we had some great holidays there, we've yet to find somewhere as appealing as Rock, Daymer and Polzeath for our holidays. The highlights for me were body boarding with the kids, a round of golf at St Enodoc and catching a few mackerel for the BBQ. The coastal scenery around Pentire Head is just stunning, whatever the weather. The cleaning service was a great help to ensure we were able to make the most of our last evening and get on the road by 10am the next morning. The only thing I would suggest for improvement at the Moorings is that a hosepipe in the garden would have been useful for washing the wetsuits. Looking forward to our next stay already!

  We really enjoyed our stay at Tregillan.

  The house is spacious, bright, comfortable and well equipped. It is very private on a quiet lane with a large mature garden. There are tantalising views of the estuary looking over to Padstow from the upstairs bedroom windows which were a joy to wake up to. A short stroll down the lane takes you to Porthilly Cove and St Michael's Church. At the top of the lane is Rock Road with a coffee shop/deli and Newsagent within easy walking distance. The butcher, baker and local mini market are a couple of minutes away by car. The Mariners, The Rock Inn and the ferry to Padstow are also a short drive away or within 20 minutes walking distance for those feeling a bit more energetic. Rock is also well situated for exploring Cornwall with so much to do and see within an hour's drive. There are beautiful walks from the doorstep and my husband walked to Polzeath and back a couple of times. The dishwasher broke during our stay but we were happy that this was replaced within 48 hours of reporting it. The one minor thing we feel the property lacked was a clothes airer for drying clothes indoors which were not suitable for tumble drying. We were unable to use the rotary line outside due to the weather, which was quite showery, and are conscious of the need to save energy.

  What a wonderful house. We all had a smashing time. The showers are lovely and powerful and the kitchen is perfect for congregating. The garden was a hit for our dogs and great it is completely secure. Recommendations – The Horseshoes in Rennington is an old fashioned pub with amazing homemade food, The Pack Horse at Ellingham does an amazing Thai night on a Monday, The Running Fox in Longhouton is brilliant for cakes and scones – What’s not to like? The Market Tavern in Alnwick was another good place for homemade food. And all of these are dog friendly! We had wild weather, got soaked a few times, had some very windy and cold evenings but have stayed nice and toasty in Hassock House. Thank you for letting us stay and for the lovely welcome hamper. We would love to return!

  Lovely bungalow, home from home comfort.

  The conservatory was a great place for the kids to play whilst the adults relaxed in the lounge. Location is perfect, short walk away from Rock Bakery in the mornings to pick up pasties and croissants and the Pytime pub is only 3 doors away if you don't fancy cooking. Fantastic beaches all within a short drive and loads of family days out if the weather is a but wet all within a short travelling time away. We have been holidaying in Rock now for over 50 years as a family and Cogenhoe is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. The only think I couldnt find was a broom and a dustpan and brush to sweep up sand after a day at the beach, the hoover was there but sometimes it wouls have been quicker to sweep up. I will definately book Cogenhoe again.

  Very nice little touches since we last stayed at this lovely well equipped and comfortable property, new bedside tables were soooo good as was little carpet pieces under the sofa to stop it moving.

  Kitchen window repaired which was nice so we could see the birds in the garden. Courtesy call a couple of days after our arrival was a nice touch. Only little niggle was with the main bathroom, not the en suite one. There is a little ledge going 3/4 around the bathroom what obviously had been missed in cleaning, this had little curly hairs and long hairs and dust stuck to it and the towel rail had not been dusted either, have photos if your interested. This didn’t really affect us as we used the en suite bathroom all the time, just thought you would like to know. Everything else was superb and we had an incredibly comfortable and happy stay, would thoroughly recommend this property to others
