What our customers say about their holidays

Part of me almost doesnât want to write this review so I can keep this absolutely gem a secret, but that wouldnât be fair.
When we arrived, Glen met us at the property to give us a guided tour and to show us how to use the hot tub. She was so friendly and welcoming and made us feel right at home. The first thing you notice with the property is the size. Itâs was huge and easily accommodated the 6 of us. It also has 2 double bedrooms which is a rare find! The vaulted ceilings also made it feel more spacious and light. Every room had a tv, fresh bedding and towels and even individual bars of soap which was a lovely touch. There had separate towels for the hot tub and for bathing. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with pretty much every utensil you could need. There was even basic condiments for cooking as well as products for cleaning / washing up. The hot tub was very relaxing and got daily use. Thereâs a privacy screen next to it so youâre not overlooked and you can just relax and enjoy the views. So, the views. The location is truly stunning. Set in its own private field, there is plenty of grassy area to enjoy and even 2 lakes which are well stocked with fish, if thatâs your thing. Thereâs plenty of wildlife to enjoy, from wild deer to Kingfishers so make sure you take some binoculars. The nearest town was Bampton which had a couple of Spar shops, decent butchers and pharmacy and was only a 5 min drive away. All the locals roads were very quiet, but are well connected if you wanted to travel further afield. Can definitely recommend the Grand Wester Canal for a lovely walk. All in all we had an amazing time and will definitely be back soon.

We had a 2 night stay here after a camping trip and was greeted by the lovely owners who showed us round.
Emma was brilliant with the children and directed them to the secret mud kitchen in the woods that was just beautiful. Theres lots for the children to do and play with. We were gifted some lemon cake and homemade juice which was absolutely yummy!!! The glamping tent was huge and comfortably slept all 5 of us whilst giving us lots of space within the main area of the tent. The cupboard bedroom was a real hit with my daughter. We had a hot tub which was super easy to get going (do this as soon as you can to be able to enjoy it as soon as you arrive). The grounds are just breathtaking as well as the peace and tranquility. We were offered to do the farm tour but my children decided to sleep in, so I embraced the opportunity to sit outside with a cuppa. The tent is so clean and tidy and felt like we were the first ones using it. The beds are really comfy and slept amazing.... we really wished we had stayed longer. Be prepared for absolute darkness at night, so an extra torch needs to be packed. We also took our gas stove for a quick brew in the morning rather than waiting for the stove to heat up which i would recommend taking.... also do remember to take slippers. We didn't do much exploring further out of the site as we were quite happy to explore the grounds and relax. We will definitely return if we are ever down south again. Thank you Aller Farm Camping x

This is a fantastic place to stay and I canât recommend it enough.
Quantock Barn is exactly as you see in the pictures - the property is huge and we loved the well-equipped open-plan kitchen and lounge area. Having all en-suite bedrooms was a lovely addition and is generally a rare find with holiday lets. Everywhere was very clean and really nicely decorated. On arrival weâd been left welcome treats of cheese, milk, fresh bread, egg and biscuits which was a really nice touch. We also enjoyed the luxury of a hot tub and loved having the four goats in the paddock opposite (they were there sporadically and were surprisingly quiet so no worries of being disturbed!) We accidentally broke a wine glass while we were there, which I reported and apologised for and Izzy (the owner) was round the next day with a replacement. She also checked the hot tub was ready to use and was generally very welcoming and friendly. The barn is secluded and peaceful, but well placed for trips to the countryside and the coast (we travelled to Sidmouth and Lyme Regis and Branscombe during our stay). All in all, a real standout place to stay.

Last minute booking for myself, husband and son (15) and what a find!
Warm and welcoming host who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and even left us a welcome bottle of bubbles and biscuits. The lodge was immaculately presented but still felt homely..even better than the pictures. It is situated with another in its own grounds with breathtaking views of the countryside and 2 lakes that are a stones throw away. The wildlife we saw and fed on our stay from Canadian geese with their young, ducks, rabbits and pheasants, to sit and watch the huge fish and dragonflies was truely magical. The lodge has everything you need, the beds are super comfortable, big fridge freezer, washing machine and dryer and of course the hot tub which was clean, hot and ready to get right into! If your looking for peaceful getaway or a beautiful base to explore Devon, I can't recommend staying here enough. We cant wait to return ..next time I'm bringing my fishing rod, binoculars and staying longer!! Thanks again The Farrer Family X

Spacious lodge in a quiet setting with fishing lake which was a bonus.
Caught some large carp. Clean throughout but getting abit tired in places. Recliner seats did not work. Dining room seats worn. Flooring was coming up in places. Little things which would have made it 5 star rating. Hot tub was well used. Although would have made it better if it was covered up as we had to use umbrellas in the rain. The lodge does have a washing machine/tumble dryer which is not mentioned in the property details. There are no instructions on how to use the cooker/microwave which was a problem. In the end we had to use Google to fathom to work them to cook things. You access the lodge via a long single track with hardly no passing places so beware. Nearest supermarket is back in Tiverton but there are two Spar shops in Bampton for the essentials but difficult to find somewhere to park. We would book again if we were looking for a peaceful setting.
