What our customers say about their holidays

We think Meadow View is in a great location, we've stayed at Sedgeford Hall in the past and wanted to revisit the area so your cottage fitted the bill.
In all honesty the pictures on line were obviously taken a while ago and the cottage is looking a little tired. The paintwork downstairs could do with a refresh, the sofa in the dining area is not very comfortable, the one in the lounge is a bit better. The tv in the lounge was unpredictable, and turned itself off midst viewing several times and often the screen would just go blank for 10 or 15 seconds and then come back on again. We had an issue with the side door being difficult to unlock, which we did report, and the owners are going to get it sorted and were very approachable about the issue. We used the patio door instead but the gate is very difficult to close from the drive side as it needs to be lifted and that's not easy as there's no handle. We found the cottage well equipped, loads of towels supplied which was good, the beds were comfortable. Bizarrely no hand soap, despite supplying so many other things like salt, pepper, oil, oxo cubes, fairy liquid, loo roll, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel.................! The information folder was very useful and we really enjoyed the local walks and were thrilled that the local pub The King William has been upgraded and now serves lovely food! Absolutely great and a lovely walk via a footpath to get there. We have had a lovely holiday, and don't wish to sound negative, but that was our honest assessment.

We had a lovely summer holiday stay with our children at Meadow View cottage.
The downstairs space was extensive and really worked well for us having the front and back sitting rooms. The children's toys were a pleasant surprise and much played with, as were the children's books. It could all be easily popped back away to turn it into adult space in the evening again. The garden looking onto fields (or indeed a meadow!) really made it for us, with the fine weather, the children played outside and thanks to the owner for leaving some garden toys in the shed. We really valued having the utility room with the washing machine which worked well and the downstairs shower which was really useful after trips to the beach. We were pleased at how clean the cottage was and settled straight in as a home from home. Overall we found this a good base for us to see the sights of the North Norfolk coast and the owner had clearly put a lot of time and attention into the property. The recommendations in the info book were helpful and we did the walk across the fields to the Gin Trap and General Store twice(!) as it was so good and went to the village playground - many thanks for the voucher which was a nice treat and prompt to visit. We would happily stay here again and explore more of this beautiful part of the world. Many thanks.

The flat is sited perfectly close to all amenities, that's a plus.
On the other hand, the flat needed maintenance and regular inspection. We were so disappointed that both settees had their liners torn down under them, the cushions were also stained, not washed in a long time. There were cobwebs all around the kitchen and other rooms. Also discovered one of two carving knives had been snapped in half and hidden behind the cutlery tray, the same draw was full of crumbs, not cleaned out for quite a while. The toaster had been damaged and would only work when holding the handle down. The bedroom main light did not work, I discovered the energy saver tube had been smashed and the lamp holder damaged. I replaced this with permition of the owner as I was an electrician. The bed bed felt insecure when you laid on it and creaked badly, luckily i found a screw driver and allen key to tighten it all up. Later as we stripped the bed we discovered that the mattrass on the bed was badly stained, so off putting! We also had to buy our own kitchen sponge, surface cleaner and toilet rolls. Only one toilet roll for two people, very poor! Finally, the entrance to the building was overgrown with wild trees and weeds.

Meadow View was perfect for our family stay in Norfolk.
It had the most fantastic garden, not only terrier proof but it backed onto fields where you could see hawks and owls. The quiet was the best thing. Very few cars and the view at night with the sunset from our bedroom across the fields was amazing. We'd open up both windows and look out before going to sleep. The rooms were great, facilities good, plenty of space in the kitchen to put things, fab pantry. The second bedroom is small but ideal for our 10 year old. Plenty of wildlife around the area, we rescued a baby hedgehog in the road and we saw stoats darting about. Plenty to do - we didn't get everything done. The General Store was outstanding with so much on offer. The cottage was so close to everything, Hunstanton, Castle Rising, Sandringham, Holme-next-the-sea, Holkham Hall etc. The big bonus was the AllDogs Meadow a 2-minute drive from the cottage, a field for dogs to run around in, our reactive rescues absolutely loved it! Whether you have dogs, kids, neither or both you will have a great stay, thanks Helen for having us.

What a location! Walking out the front door and seeing the sea was a real treat. The house is in a quiet road, just a few minutes from the beach. Also, it's only a short walk to the town centre. The house has comfortable beds - a must! It had pretty much everything you could possibly need for a holiday base. The table folds out and easily seats 4. The house looks small in the photos on the listing, but my partner and I (and our two gangly teenagers) had plenty of space, and enjoyed hanging out together in the lounge in the evenings. We spent a lot of time playing crazy golf, foot golf, pitch and putt, the putting green and the bowling green. We also went to the park, again a short walk away. The beach is wonderful for walking and fossil hunting. The sunsets are stunning. The RSPB reserve at Titchwell Marsh is worth a visit, as is the Sealife Centre. We recommend the Northgate Indian restaurant. If you want banter and a Belgian bun bigger than your head, go to Mr Bun the Baker!
