What our customers say about their holidays

Wow! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful house. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found everything we needed at the property. We have been blessed with the most amazing weather and the garden has been an absolute delight, especially the roses. It is so beautifully peaceful and quiet sat in the garden, all you can hear is bird song. As keen bird watchers, we have been amazed at what we have seen from the garden. Regularly seeing Red Kites, Buzzards, Kestrels and Hobby. The House Martins and Swifts put on a regular aerial display and we have been visited by Goldfinches, Chaffinches, Robins, Wrens and Blakckbirds to name a few. At dusk bats fly around the garden and we have seen Owls at dusk. Barney is a perfect location for exploring Norfolk and although we have visited the county many times over the years, we still managed to find new roads and places to visit. This is the county we usually guarantee to see Hares and this time has well exceeded our expectations (one evening driving home we must have seen about 50 in various fields), and the poppies have been spectacular. Returning to Stone Croft has been such a pleasure with extremely comfortable seating and beds. We would thoroughly recommend your home and hope to come back again soon. The easy access to the North Norfolk coast makes it perfect. We have had an amazing two weeks and feel truly relaxed and refreshed. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful home.

Josephine’s Cottage is absolutely precious! It has everything you could need and having an enclosed back yard made it so convenient if you have a dog with you. Heating worked well and there were logs for one night’s fire (along with detailed instructions on how to use the wood-burning stove, which was appreciated as it was my first time). It was great to have a washer and dryer. Parking was easy on the green across the street. The stairs up to the bedroom are quite steep and may not suit everyone. The one cafe in Great Walsingham is an absolute delight; the owners are lovely, and the food is delicious. There’s a great gallery right there, too. The cottage owners recommended a short circular walk to Little Walsingham which I second, and the Abbey in town had beautiful grounds, medieval ruins and fields covered in snowdrops. The only thing I would note is shower water pressure isn’t very good but all the other positives heavily outweigh that one negative. I had a wonderful stay - it was a fantastic introduction to North Norfolk. I was gutted to leave and hope to return soon!

An attractive traditional cottage from the outside with many modern features that make for a very comfortable visit. We stayed in winter and the cottage was very warm. Spacious and well fitted kitchen come family room with a dining table. The cottage accommodates up to 6 people but bunk beds in bed 3 mean that 2 of these should be children. The ensuite is a little snug but the family bathroom was certainly big enough. We were 4 on our visit for a week and did not feel we were tripping over each other; but not so sure if there were to be another 2 staying; although ours was a winter visit so we could not spill out into the garden where there is a large table and a separate seating area, all kitted out. Very good broadband connection. Parking for 2 cars at the front is fine but no more. The lane outside is single track so on street parking would not be easy/convenient. Quiet village location with excellent access via nearby A148 to much of north and mid Norfolk and the wide range of local facilities in nearby Fakenham and Holt.

Enjoyable stay in Coach House Cottage at the end of September with our dog. Ten minutes walk to the coast and lovely walks around and about including over to Sheringham and getting the Poppy Line train back to Weybourne station. We found the area quite dog friendly which was lovely, with cafes etc happy to accept a well behaved dog on the premises - especially useful with the changing weather! An added bonus for us was that for four nights we were treated to a wonderful display of the Milky Way as Weybourne is in the Dark Skies area. The Ship Inn - 2 minutes walk away - does a fabulous Sunday lunch but you need to book in advance....even before you arrive! Our stay was end of September/early October! Evening meals are also served some evenings - again booking essential. The village shop opposite is well stocked and also serves teas/coffees/ breakfast and snacks.
