  Beautiful cottage, exceptionally well equipped and spotlessly clean. We all loved the cottage and felt very comfortable during our stay. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and all of the Easter goodies were a hit with the children! The location was ideal for places we planned to visit. It was beautifully finished and had everything we needed as a group of 6. We could tell from the photos online that the property looked to be finished to a high standard and this is something we really appreciate when looking for a holiday home. The whole process was very straightforward. All of the essentials were really useful. We had a grocery delivery the first evening but the welcome basket provided everything we needed to get us started. We have been really impressed with Coquet Cottages throughout the whole process. We first booked with you in April 2020 and the pandemic unfortunately stopped our plans. When we were looking to book this trip, I recalled how helpful you had been at the time and how quickly we had been refunded without any hassle at all. When we needed to rearrange our dates because of a hospital appointment, you were so very helpful I would not hesitate to recommend you and will definitely be booking our next Northumberland trip with you. I just wish there were Coquet Cottages all over the UK. Thank you!

  Mainly positive but access was disappointing.

  The listing says it may not be suitable for people with mobility issues when it should actually say totally unsuitable. There is no access without stairs. The external stairs are steep and slippy when wet. Once inside on the middle floor where the lounge / diner and kitchen are there is no access to toilet facilities without stairs. The outside space is also limited. The back is fully block paved for car parking and not at all suitable for sitting out. The front which is obviously not private has a small lawn and bench seat. No outdoor tap or hose for washing the dogs after returning from the beach. On the positive side the house was clean and well equipped with great views of the sea opposite. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were good quality. We had one issue with the Wi-Fi and the owner was quick to contact us by phone which was good. It was due to a short power cut so nothing to do with the house itself. For us it’s not a house we would use again, mainly because of the difficult access and lack of pleasant outside space. For the price there are much better options in the vicinity if you sacrifice the view.

  The Oystercatcher was perfect in every way with its stylish décor and attention to detail. Everything has been thought of. I was particularly impressed with the butter knife and the rubber gloves! I’d taken my own but did not need them. The communication during our stay was very thoughtful. The information provided prior to our stay was extremely informative and the courtesy call before our holiday was a nice touch. The accommodation was in a perfect location and had everything we needed. The website was easy to follow and the information provided was clear. The photos of the accommodation looked extremely appealing and we were not disappointed. My initial phone call with Coquet Cottages was answered professionally and in a friendly manner and this was the case with all of my communication with the staff of Coquet Cottages. I can honestly say it was just perfect and made all the more special as this was our very first holiday with our new baby granddaughter. We will definitely be back.   Enjoyed a fantastic week staying in this well placed cottage to explore the Northumberland coast. The cottage had everything we needed in utensils, pans etc for cooking (8 people) there was also some tea-bags, cooking oil, salt and pepper. The cottage was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. Shower over the bath in the en-suite. Mixer tap shower in the main bathroom. Lots of space in the garden for playing games etc. plus there are balls and tennis racquets in the shed. There are also board games, jigsaws, felt tips, children’s books and paper. Couple of minutes walk to Beadnell bay via the sand dunes. We will definitely book again.

  This was a wonderful week in Bamburgh and the surrounding areas. The cottage is ideal and was equipped with everything you could need. Great places to eat that we visited were The Potted Lobster, The Joiners Arms (Newton By the Sea) and The Jolly Fisherman. We kayaked on Beadnell beach which was fabulous, dolphins were also in the bay area. The castle is a must. We took a boat trip to see the seals with Serenity boats at Seahouses. We cycled and walked many places, and the weather was lovely. Thank you for being amazing hosts, We will be back. The garden is also an oasis and was greatly enjoyed.
