During those warm evenings, step out to the patio area and overlook the picturesque courtyard and flower beds, relaxing with a favourite beverage in hand. Located near the mouth of the Helford River in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Mawnan Smith is a pretty little village. It is home to a traditional pub, a restaurant, a church and a handful of shops. The surrounding area is perfect for ramblers, with an abundance of creekside and woodland walks, and subtropical gardens at Glendurgan and Trebah. The Helford River also offers opportunities for kayaking and sailing as well as fishing. The nearby maritime town of Falmouth is a popular resort, with a range of shops and restaurants, bowling alley and the National Maritime Museum…. Or why not catch the ferry from Helford Passage to Helford Village and explore the picturesque South Helford? Enterprise Boats offer trips up the River Fal from Falmouth to Truro, passing iconic maritime locations and landmarks as well as several ocean-going vessels which anchor in the river.
