  We loved our mini break it was very needed!

  ! Location: The pod is located in a very quiet area. It is on a working farm but this was no issuse as we felt we were secluded and had all the privacy needed. A car is recommended to get around, car space is available just outside. One evening we walked to the local pub to have dinner and daily walk around the area down to the lake. Plenty of beaches within a 30 min drive, loads of national trust walks and sights around too. Pod: The pod has been finished to a high standard. There was Christmas lights decorated in the pod which made it feel magical. The pod had everything we needed, we cooked a few meals with the plug in hob with ease. The bed was super comfortable for a good night sleep. Their is a little garden space to sit outside if wanted. The pod was really clean and had everything we needed. Hosts: The hosts were just a text away if we needed anything. On our arrival she popped in to say hello and allowed us to ask questions about the local area. Super friendly and put us at ease. Hosts dogs were beautiful and super friendly. Overall we enjoyed our stay it was much needed and the fact we could bring our dog on his first hoilday with ease made it even more special. Already recommended the pod to our family and friends and would happily stay again. Thank you :)

  Arriving at Birchenhaze was really special.

  A long winding driveway down from the small country lane and you are greeted with spectacular views across the valley. The barn is an exceptional conversion with no expense spared. On entering, it smelt really nice and clean, and it was. It was immaculate throughout the property and it had everything you could need. Helen and Andrew (really lovely hosts) had left us a complimentary pack including scones with clotted cream and jam, Prosecco, milk, bread, eggs, bacon, sausages etc. and all local high quality produce. There's no shortage of comfortable seating both inside and out with a fantastic hot tub. Looking down the garden and across the valley there is a lovely pond. This is a great feature but they are currently making into something really special. They have created another pond down the hill with a waterfall running to it and are creating a further area down from that with another waterfall. We will definitely be going back to see this when it's finished. The peace and quiet of Birchenhaze was just what we wanted but it is also the perfect place to use a base to visit the rest of Cornwall or Devon. We can't fault the barn is any way and we would love to go back as alluded to.

  A fabulous place to stay.

  Homely and bright, extremely clean and comfortable, plenty of room. Spacious bedrooms. The wet room with walk-in shower was ideal for my Grandad who stayed with us. There was a vase of fresh flowers in the hallway when we arrived; a lovely touch. We were very impressed with the equipment provided, everything you could need for an excellent stay. Our kids enjoyed the large garden and it’s so peaceful and quiet with beautiful countryside views. In the evening we saw deer in the field by the garden. We had a couple of BBQ’s with absolutely delicious meat from the butchers Paul Bray & Son which is just a 5 minute drive. Trerulefoot is a great base for exploring the area, Looe is a short drive away. We visited beautiful beaches in Looe, Talland Bay (amazing rock pools) and Polkerris. The best family day out we had was at Pennywell Farm. It was so much fun, not to be missed! Make sure you get there for opening as the activities start at 9:30am. We enjoyed our holiday so much, we couldn't have wished for anything better! I would definitely recommend The Old Forge to anyone and we hope to come back! Thank you.

  !! Look no further if you are looking for an absolutely amazing place in Cornwall, to kick back and relax! I cannot rate this place high enough, the beautiful surroundings, the peace and quiet, the thought and detail that has gone in to providing you, with a home away from home. Everything you need, and more, is supplied. The welcome pack was very highly received. Produce from the local community shop, which we purchased more of to bring home! The hot tub was a welcome addition, and very relaxing to come back to, after our days out. We used the outside BBQ, which was simple to use. The rooms are all decorated to a very high standard, and the beds were all very comfortable. We ate out at the local pub, The Who'd of thought it Inn, and the food there was delicious, so well worth a visit! Birchenhayes really is a slice of heaven, tucked away, in rolling hills, in the beautiful Cornish countryside ❤️ The owners are absolutely wonderful and we cannot thank them enough, for their generosity xx We will most definitely be returning in the future ❤️

  It's a great bungalow in a superb position that gives easy access to a large area of both Cornwall and Devon.

  Very comfortable and welle quipped with a wonderful garden and great views; although we only live around 30 miles away it gave us access to the Tamar valley which wasn't a corner of our county that we had visited before. THE FOLLOWING FOR INFORMATION FOR THE OWNER ONLY I was surprised to find a non-smart TV - wasn't a problem as I carry a long HDMI lead and we were able to stream through my laptop - if you don't plan to upgrade the TV you might want to mention the TV as not everyone carries their laptops and a long lead with them. Also the heated towel rail doesn't work and one of the recliners only opens when nobody is sitting on it - this was mentioned in the note we left for the cleaners.
