  The property at 21 British Road, St.

  Agnes has great 19th century character, with original features and retro-contemporary decor. It was conveniently located for access to nearby Chapel Porth beach and the surrounding, dramatic coastal landscape, amenities in the village centre and to the main routes out towards Truro and the scenic Roseland peninsular on the south coast. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay here. However, there were a few shortcomings. Despite the generous offer of Prosecco on arrival, there was NO WELCOME BOOK with any guides and instructions as is normally provided in holiday let accommodation. As I am not familiar with the Nest smart heating system, we found it difficult to control the central heating. There was no advice on the disposal and recycling of rubbish. NO BEDSIDE LAMP provided - due to no nearby wall socket - in the main ‘poster bed’ bedroom, where my elderly mother slept - I had to use the floor lamp from the lounge! Car parking was a real, inconvenient hassle every day - having to constantly walk up and down the steep, one way street hill / road with bags etc. with vehicles constantly driving round the bend as there was never a space available opposite the house - having to drive round the block all the time! Constant thoroughfare traffic made it a relatively noisy environment offering little incentive to sit outside in the pleasant front courtyard. We had a great time away in this region of Cornwall yet the points raised above made our experience not as relaxing as it should have been.

  A wonderful location and village. A traditional cornish community that supports the local businesses (great deli, farm shop & pubs). Christmas with a visit from Santa on his sleigh, carol singing and Christingle at the church opposite the property was magical. The beds are all very comfortable and the games room & bar were a plus with the young adults in our party. Thank you for the fresh milk and bread on arrival and we really did appreciate the number of fridges in the property, especially over the Christmas period. The lounge/snug spaces are perfect and plenty of seating for larger groups/families. The pub next door and the one at the bottom of the hill on the way to the beach were lovely with very friendly staff. We had a meal at the indian which was delightful and on our first night we ordered take away pizza from the shop at the top of the hill and had a glass of wine while we waited for it to be freshly cooked. All in all, a very special village and the perfect property for multiple families to get together, with everything you need on your doorstep.

  Gwel Nans is a lovely property, situated about a 5 min drive from the lovely village of St Agnes.

  It is on a completely blind bend if turning in from the right. The house has everything you need and is spacious and comfy( although take your own condiments). The garden is small and we couldn’t sit out as it is overgrown - the grass needs cutting and the decking is covered in bird poo - it could do with a jetwash/hose to clean it up! The shower over the bath takes ages to drain too but these are really small points, the house is lovely!! It is a good base and location for travelling round Cornwall but if you want to pop to the pub or shops you will need to drive. There is nothing in immediate walking distance. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. Unfortunately we didn’t have the best weather but we still managed to visit the gorgeous beaches at St Agnes and Crantock on the two best days as well as a rainy day visit to St Ives and a trip to the wonderful St Nectans Glen (quite a drive there!)   We had a wonderful time at Beacon House.

  This was a very stylish and comfortable house located on the edge of St. Agnes. It is possible to walk everywhere from the accommodation. A 10 minute walk and it is possible to reach the centre of the village to explore, for grocery store, bakery, butcher and friendly pubs. Trevaunance Cove, a surfing beach was one of our favourite short walks, taking about 30 minutes to reach the sandy bay with pubs and cafes to visit on the way. We recommend a stop at Cafe Q for a light lunch followed by their orange and pistachio cake. The Driftwood Spars was a great friendly pub for food and very cosy with a wood burning stove. The Miners Arms at Mithian for food, plenty of history and atmosphere. We explored many of the other beautiful beaches along the coast. Some of our favourites were Chapel Porth, Porthtowan, Constantine Bay, Harlyn Bay and Booley Beach. We loved everything about our visit to Beacon House and St. Agnes.

  Beacon House was lovely, very homely, lovely quality finishings, super warm, clean and a great spot for exploring St Agnes and the surrounding coastal area.

  We would recommend it. A couple of minor feedback points that I hope are helpful. On our welcome email it said milk and a starter pack of logs would be provided but actually neither were. Just a bit inconvenient after a long drive to have to pop out again for milk. The single bed wasn’t the most comfortable for an adult to sleep in, the mattress was quite uncomfortable. The master and double beds were great though. One other thing that slightly let a lovely property down was the weeds around the outside and the overgrown grass in the garden, given it was a sunny week it just looked a bit unkempt when we were out on the patio. I hope this is constructive, we have a holiday let ourselves so do know that it’s helpful to have feedback. Thank you though for a great stay.
