What our customers say about their holidays
Donna - Verified booking
Having stayed in this beautiful cottage 3 years ago (Sept 2021) we were very disappointed on our return.
Even when we arrived the outside looked scruffy with accumulated dirt and cobwebs in the porch area, a broken pot in the garden and dirty garden chairs and table - initial presentation goes a long way! One of the guests commented in the guest book that a small welcome pack would be appreciated and I agree, particularly a fresh pint of milk and perhaps some butter. However, our main concern was the general cleanliness of the place. The last time we stayed it was spotless, so much so that I left a note for the cleaner thanking her. This time, there was dust and long hairs on the spiral staircase in the lounge, dust on the bedside lamps and the bathroom was a disgrace! It looked like it needed a really good clean. The owners will probably say they are going to update the bathroom, but that is no excuse for not cleaning the original one properly. It looked like it needed a really good deep clean. PERHAPS THEY SHOULD HIRE A NEW CLEANER WHEN THEY REFURBISH THE BATHROOM! The whole place felt grubby and when I stripped the bed at the end of our stay, the matress protector had two yellow stains so needed washing and replacing! In the one of the bedrooms the main light wasn't working and nor was the bedside lamp, which I replaced with a lamp from the second bedroom. Small things, but they need to be checked before new guests arrive. Unfortunately, due to our experience this time we will not be recommending this cottage to friends and family which is a shame because it was idyllic last time, but presentation and cleanliness are our top priorities.

This is a real gem of a place, the hut is surrounded by farmland and a wonderful, unspoilt look.
Based at the end of the owners garden, it is secretly placed amongst a small orchard in an extensive green space, easily the length of a football park. Peace and quiet is guaranteed. Throw away those phones, bring your books and relax and take in the sounds of the countryside. There is a resident pigeon and game birds are running around the adjoining fields. Take a seat at one of around 5/6 , seating areas, all with great views of the surrounding hills. At night, enjoy sipping a coffee, wine or beer at the front of the hut, lit up with solar lights. Inside, the hut has everything you need for a weekend away, or like us, a full 7 nights. A Comfortable bed awaits, with a log burner for those colder nights. The surrounding areas have an abundance of places to walk why not take in go ape, walk, cycle or zip slide around the forrest. Many restaurants and pubs nearby. Plough Inn - 3 courses for 12 quid, or for 20 the largest steak you can eat. Sunday lunch at the Running Horse is a must. If going out and about, the steam train from Kiddiminstet is a real treat. Finally, find better hosts, please let me know, Pete and Donna were excellent hosts - full of useful information for outings - helped us with our weekly intimacy. Great folks, great place, we will be back.

Lovely 4 night stay at the Tractor Shed.
Clean tidy & well presented. Had everything you needed ( tho maybe a small chest of drawers may be handy). The garden furniture was a bonus, table, chairs, hammock, fire pit if you wanted to sit outside. You are close to a B road so you can hear a bit of traffic but it wasn't too busy. You have to park on the owners drive & walk round their house to get to the cottage which is in a huge garden/field, very pleasant seeing the sun set. Owners very friendly, helped with carrying luggage to the cottage. If you like walks, there are plenty of footpath signs but you may need an OS map to start you off (we didn't as it was a spur of the moment decision) so we had to get in the car & find a place to stop & start a walk. Took us a while to find a lay by to park up. We did eventually find a lovely walk across beautiful countryside in the Teme valley & had a great sunday lunch at The Lions Head in Clifton-on- Teme. The Malvern hills are about 30mins drive. Can recommend The Masons Arms up the road to Martley & the Bell Inn. We went the Cob cafe down the road just for a coffee which was nice, they have pathways around fishing lakes & a few animals for children. All in all a lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings.

This far exceeded our expectations of our stay in the Cotswolds.
Perfect size, nicely decorated and a very cosy vibe which is exactly what we were after. The sun sets right in front of the entrance where seats and a table are provided, you can see out in the garden from the snug upstairs bedroom, cook your own food in the kitchen and there's a parking space right next to the building too. We went to the friendly pub a few minutes walk away each night which sold restaurant quality food, had local ales and it's own gin menu. The minimal light pollution on the street gives an amazing view of the night sky on the walk home too, so much so we sat outside for a while once we got home on the first night! After visiting some of the nearby popular and more well known villages we were thankful just how quiet this cottage and village were and that we were away from the large crowds of people. An extra note that the hosts are very welcoming and added to the overall great experience of our trip. We hope to be returning here one day!
