What our customers say about their holidays
Jacqueline - Verified booking
Myself and my husband went for a short break.
The accommodation had everything you need for this. Lots of cooking equipment but no instructions how to use any of it ( we did not use anyway). We took teatowels, soap, shampoo, etc but, this is all provided, even though not listed on itinerary. The description of the accommodation was accurate but nothing to say about steep climb up from road if you are walking. The area itself is beautiful, green an lush, went on some lovely walks but again, a lot of ascending inclines. The farm has a menagerie of animals who all come to say hello, particularly Sylvie the cat and mabel, a new foundland, both indulging in having a fuss. Ceri is lovely, willing to help with anything and full of information about the area. We purchased pork pies from her which were amazing- we bought some home too, along with some goat burgers. Could do with a list of produce and prices left in accommodation as they do not have an actual shop. Tha accommodation is quite compact but enough for 2 people. The shower room/ toilet is right next to bed and you cannot open door properly to get into it. We reported the outside lights not working which Ceri came to look at same morning. The hot tub we only managed to use once because of weather, it was great to ease weary bones but, could do with shelter overhead to enable more use. We had not tried this kind of holiday before but would definitely recommend, would like stay in a cottage next time though. Overall, had a lovely few days in beautiful area.

To describe our say in one word "AMAZING".
Chris and I enjoyed our stay so much and could not fault Shepard's hut at all. The hosts have definitely put a lot of thought into this to make sure that every individual enjoy their stay. Private garden for the dogs, upon arrival, eggs, butter, cakes, jam, tea, bread and lots more available. There was nothing missing at all. Chris and I have stayed at many huts before and found that the bed was uncomfortable. The bed at Shepard's Hut was amazing and so comfortable which added to our holiday and feeling rested. There was wood logs and charcoal available upon arrival. The shed at the side of hut, had everything you needed inside. The hut was very clean and easy to maintain. I took my picnic mat and placed it on the floor inside the hut out of respect due to having to 2 dogs. Close to the huts, you will find a lovely forest walk for the dogs which is marked out clearly for tail. It was so peaceful and the rain did not put us off at all. The hut was very warm inside and all facilities are to an amazing standard. This is the far best hut Chris and I have stayed and the host deserve so much credit for the work they have put into this. The hosts are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Chris and I would like to say! A BIG THANKYOU and would love to stay here again. I would highly recommend to everyone looking for a romantic and peaceful weekend. From Chris and Sue Stockport Manchester.

This was our second time staying at Oakleigh Farm and once again it exceeded our expectations.
I recently had an operation and was looking for someone quiet to relax and recover so naturally we chose to stay there again. We were greeted with a warm welcome back by Chris and Fern who left us extra goodies from our favourite local store and a gift for our dog, Tess. They are such lovely hosts and the personal touch is what will keep us going back time and time again. This time we stayed in the Onnen hut and it was fabulous. We have all the facilities we needed for our 3 night stay. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the utensils and crockery you need. There is a selection of toiletries provided if you forgot to pack your own. The towels and bedding are lovely and clean. Thereâs also coffee and tea and condiments provided too which is super handy. The garden was ideal for the dog who enjoyed running laps around the enclosed garden when she had the zoomies. We honestly cannot fault anything about the place. We absolutely love it. Itâs very closely situated to Aberaeron which has a good selection of shops and restaurants. I cannot recommend this place enough. We are already discussing when we will be back to visit next year. Thanks again to Chris and Fern for making our visit perfect!

We enjoyed a wonderful week in stepaside and the lodge was perfectly positioned for us to take in all that the local area had to offer.
We loved the short trail from the site down to Wiseman's beach and being so close to Saundersfoot and Tenby. We also found that we could explore the local area by car with everything we needed just a short ride from the lodge. The lodge itself was great, as an adult sharing the twin 'kids' room, it wasn't ideal but that wasn't a fault of the lodge but rather my own personal circumstances. The lodge was clean, the shower was lovely and powerful, the kitchen had everything we needed and the oven was spotless. The only negative I can report was with the double doors that opened onto the balcony. They stuck every time I had to close them, I got the knack after a day or so but it was an irritation and I'm sure something that could be easily sorted. We are returning next September so I would hope to see this addressed. The fact that we are returning to this lodge is I hope testament to how much we enjoyed our stay. I must also add that our host Stuart couldn't have been more welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay, thanks Stuart

What a wonderful few days we've just had in Onnen.
The accommodation is clean, decorated very tastefully with everything you need to hand. The garden was fantastic for our reactive dog, as enclosed with fencing so we felt more at ease. The owner Chris was most helpful, made us feel very welcome, thankyou for our lovely welcome hamper too. Would highly recommend a stay at Oakford Farm, the woodland trail was lovely with it's babbling stream and moss covered Gnarly trees, so nice to loose yourself, though Chris has placed arrows on route so no fear of getting lost The coastline is beautiful, we visited a few dog friendly beaches, but sadly didn't get time to do them all, maybe next time. Thankyou again for a lovely relaxing stay.
