What our customers say about their holidays
Mr Graham Rock - Verified booking
Nice house, well furnished (tired in places) and convenient location for travelling around. Brilliant garden for the dogs to charge around. The house was however somewhat personal and the water pressure in both bathrooms was weak. An old greenhouse, and a pile of metal and wood in the garden should really be removed for safety purposes: there is a warning. Path behind house leads to a little woodland area, and then onto town, but runs past actively used fields for cows, so not really convenient to allow dogs off their leads. Another fair dog walk across the road (opposite the garden centre) leading to The Orchard was good, but you have to cut across a quite road within a housing area so again a limitation for dogs off leads, That said, Dunwich Forest wasn't far away, but we did see an adder whilst there so be careful. Overall, would we recommend and consider going again - yes. Note: coming from Halesworth, the house is on the right with a little lay by in front... the house name is covered up... if you get to the garage, turnaround!

We were impressed with the quality of the property, for example the well-equipped kitchen, fluffy towels and gorgeous bedding.
It felt like a lot of thought had been put into making sure everyone has as good a stay as possible. The photos don't really do justice to some aspects of the property, like the spacious king size bedroom, high ceilings and elegant hallway. We also loved the access to the Common. This isn't mentioned in the property description, but provides a shorter route to the seafront. (Having said that, the location is incredibly central anyway, while also being quiet and tucked away.) My only criticism would be that I'd have appreciated a summer weight duvet. But the property worked brilliantly for the 3 of us and we'd happily stay again. For anyone thinking of booking, don't be put off by the lack of parking. We always managed to park virtually outside, despite visiting in the main school holiday period.

Cottage was beautiful, a real home from home. Well looked after and high quality goods throughout. I especially loved the fact basic like salt and pepper, foil, dishwasher tablets etc were there! These things are so often not provided and it can become annoying have to buy everything. The picnic hamper was amazing and the sweets meant we had happy faces all round. Excellent selections of games from young to old! Sadly we didn’t get to enjoy the garden as much as we would have hoped because of the weather but it was lovely nonetheless. Great location and loved the dog stopper for the stairs too. He’s not allowed upstairs at home so this made life much easier for us to enforce here. Thank you Tim and Anya, sorry not to write in the visitors book - we would be back in a heartbeat! Hopefully next year.

Willow House was perfect for our family get together. There is plenty of space, all the bedrooms are large, the kitchen and table provide a good focal point for family meals, and the other rooms give enough space to find a quiet corner. It is well equipped and the house folder contains info on everything we needed. The garden is very big and was great for our three dogs under supervision - it is not fully secure for some over-inquisitive dogs! The location is very good. I don't drive. I could walk into Halesworth along the road or the disused railway footpath that runs along the back of the house in about 15 - 20 minutes. Also easily walkable to and from the station. Nearer is an excellent well stocked farm shop. I would recommend for big groups and may return myself.

Relaxing retreat. When we first arrived at the Cartlodge, we were met with a beautifully clean property and a gorgeous gift basket. Given the current circumstances (Covid19) we were very happy with how perfectly clean the house was. The bedrooms were all large and beds very comfortable. The setting is so peaceful and we had a lovely long weekend at the Cartlodge. We bumped into the owners during a walk through the grounds and they were very gracious and not at all intrusive. We would certainly return and we have told all our friends and family about it as well. Very much recommended.
