  The apartment was very good and exactly as described.

  Our experience of trying to contact Sykes was very poor as the phone went unanswered on the several occasions we rang. It was disappointing there was no welcome pack of provisions, ie cream tea, bottle of wine, that we have been used to finding in other 5* rentals in Carbis Bay. The two vouchers for pasties and scones were a poor substitute. There were also very few, or mostly empty/missing cleaning materials - toilet gel, kitchen surface cleaner, and only 5 dishwasher tablets and the milk had only 2 days left on the best before date. If this is 'normal' then this fact should be made clearer on your website which did state we may need to supply extra bin liners, hand wash/sanitizer, washing powder. I would add that these items plus others have always been provided in previous 5* rentals including general sundries such as kitchen foil and cling film. There were just a couple of areas of cleaning that could have been better - there was grime where the kitchen stainless steel sink met the granite work-surface as well as grime around the dishwasher door seal and the oven needed a more thorough clean. Overall, however we were pleased with the apartment and would book again if the cost is competitive with other apartments in the area that go the extra mile in their offerings. The items we have highlighted are small and given your attention would ensure that visiting Kittiwake is a truly 5* experience.

  Lovely apartment, stunning views.

  We have stayed in various apartments in Carbis Bay and the views in Kitiwake are simply the best. The apartment is well equipped. Comfort wise, the settees are not very comfortable, whichever way we sat, comfort was an issue, a couple of armchairs would have been lovely. Another issue was the kitchen under cupboard lights, out of three, only one kept on, and the bulbs are different colours, cool white and warm white. Also the bathroom mirror lights, (bathroom nearest back door) only one side of the lights were working. Simple things maybe, but annoying. We reported these issues to the housekeeper before we left. I would point out that the parking area was listed as a ‘secure gated area’ . This was not so as the gates were open all week, obviously something wrong with the electrics/sensors. No one seen repairing them.

  "We holiday in Carbis Bay twice a year during the winter months.

  Previously we had stayed at Carbis Beach Apartments for many years. This year we decided to try Barepta Cove and what a great decision it turned out to be. We could not have been happier with the everything about the apartment. Spacious, clean, well equipped, good parking and what must be the best view in the bay. We were so pleased with Kittiwake that we have already booked two fortnights during 2018. As usual the booking experience with Carbis Bay Holidays was first class. The greeting from Hayley and the treats on arrival were much appreciated. We arranged a linen change for the middle Friday and this was done seamlessly while we were out. We can recommend the Sunday lunch at The Pedn Olva, The Firehouse Grill and Caffe Pasta. We also enjoy a walk to Lelant for lunch at The Badger or The Watermill."

  A comfortable, spacious modern and well equipped flat with superb views over the bay.

  We found lots to do in the area and a highlight was a day trip to Tresco in the Scilly Islands. Generally clean, but attention needed to some of the finer details, such as skirting boards, grill and powder drawer for washing machine. Batteries in the remote controls for the speaker and the Wii were corroded, the plug in night light in the hall doesn't work. Access to the car park is through a tight gateway, allocated parking spaces are rather tight for larger modern cars, but adequate if everyone parks centrally to their space. Train is within a ten minute walk to go into St Ives, beach 15 minutes walk, but a steep walk back, ok if you are relatively fit. One of the best Sykes properties we have stayed in and we would recommend.

  Amazing apartment in a perfect location. It’s the first time we stayed in Carbis Bay as we would normally stay in the centre of St Ives but would definitely stay here again. Everything was just so easy, beach was a 10min walk which we loved and the beach bar at Carbis bay hotel is worth a visit. You can get into St Ives on the train within minutes which made life so easy not having to take the car out and find parking constantly. The apartment itself was fab, very clean and spacious. The decor was very modern and we just felt at home making it so easy to have a chilled holiday. We couldn’t fault anything, thank you.
