  Sykes Staff have been nothing but friendly and accommodating, they were not to fault for our unsatisfactory stay.

  The property however had dust webs left in corners (despite cleaners) and offered no QR code/Covid guidelines, no antibacterial hand wash or sanitiser (good job we took our own). We were greeted by a wasps nest by the front door obviously using the property’s roof. The door with its large double glass windows offered no privacy from passers by using the shared drive and communal laundry room given the fact the shower and toilet were right behind it which resulted in us having to hang a towel over the door. The pictures of the garden were misleading. It clearly shows a grass area which had been cordoned off and belonged to another property which only left the stoned area you see in the pictures which would have been fantastic if it weren’t for the fact they are not friendly to the paws of our fury friends which meant our pet friendly get away wasn’t in fact so pet friendly at all and his off lead play time went out the window. The directions to the property are not clear, even using ‘what four words’ we had difficulty. In the end we were forced to contact Sykes which then had to contact the owners who added another couple of steps to the directions. Frankly if it weren’t for the fact we had to rely on a family member for travel and our signal was so spotty we never would have stayed.

  The pictures dont do the justice of this stunning cottage.

  It locates in the owners farm and also has good access to coastal towns. The property itself is very spacious with a beautifully maintained garden. Its enclosed so our dog could wander freely without me checking him constantly. He went to front open space too where he interacted with the owners dogs and explored their barn. The views over the field was just breathtaking. My partner stood by the window upstairs hours daily reading and enjoying the scenery there. The horses were magnificent and my partner just fell in love with Max. The sheep had a funny character approaching me for a petting. They kept barrbarring until I noticed them and gave them some good attention. The owner was very helpful and offered us to use their tumble dryer as the weather was wet during our stay. We didnt find kitchen scissors and tongs but managed without them, so didnt bother to ask the owners. The only thing I would say is the washing machine door seals might need a change. But it doesnt stop us visiting again. All in all, this is a great accommodation. Well done Robert and Joanna for your effort put into it

  A perfect weekend to switch off from normal day to day life, the weather was nice for a change so we were able to sit out for breakfast and chill in the gorgeous garden, which is completely private.

  The hot tub was so relaxing and sheltered so also private. The garden has a few security lights up so was well lit for you to stay out in the dark. The beds were comfortable and we all slept well both nights. Kitchen facilities were great, everything you needed down to kitchen foil. We didn’t really use the sitting room much as we were outside but it was cosy for the tiny bit time we did sit in it. Both hosts were friendly and approachable and explained the basics when we arrived. It was nice to know they were close by (as the properties are attached) if we needed anything without them being in your face, added security is always good. We loved the peaceful surroundings and being surrounded by horses and sheep when we ventured out for our walks was a real treat. The whole weekend from start to finish was perfect, couldn't fault a thing. Thank you for making us welcome and will definitely be returning.

  As a disabled person it can be very difficult to find adapted property which also accept animals .

  This property does that which is brilliant. It's located in a great position for the North Yorkshire moors and coast . The property itself was very clean on arrival with cake and treats for the dogs which was very nice of the owners who are very accomadating and try to please . The only downside if you can call it that is that where you park your vehicle it has a gravel covering on the parking area and driveway which is a problem with anybody with a wheelchair as you get stuck . Gravel and wheelchairs don't mix!! . But there is a more than adequate path up the side of the cottages with easy access to the cottage with ramped access. All in all this is a very nice cottage with everything you will need for a stay which I will be visiting again and would recommend to anybody able bodied or with a disability .   We really loved our stay in this little cottage, the cottage has been finished to a high level with comfortable furniture.

  It is in a great location to relax for a long weekend. We enjoyed dinner at the nearby Pheasant Hotel and walks along the river to Nunnington and chilled in the yard in front of the cottage. A couple of things that could be improved... the check-in and check-out times are not great, 6 pm check-in is very late. The dining table is not very usable and it would be great to be able to use some of the gardens of Holly Cottage as sitting in the sun on a bench is not the same as a bit of soft grass. But overall a great experience with some small improvements to make the stay even better.
