What our customers say about their holidays
Neil - Verified booking
Well appointed cosy cottage with fine views out over Grosmont village and the railway below.
It is an ex Methodist chapel that has been converted to a high standard, with underfloor heating and is very well insulated. The Station Tavern pub was a short walk away, very welcoming and had a great range of the local delicacy, the Parmo! Good description of the property re the step and stairs. The steps up from the dedicated parking space are unlit, though a torch is provided in the entrance hall (and it does enhance the fantastic view of the night sky when the skies are clear). Ideally suited for exploring the locality with the NYMR station just down the hill. We took the short train trip to Goathland visiting the not to be missed Birch Hall pub at Beck Hole. Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, the Hole of Horcum and Old May Beck / Falling Foss are just a short drive away. Overall a fantastic place to stay, highly recommended.

What a fantastic property with everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.
It was furnished to a high standard, it was well equipped, had comfortable beds and the views from the living area were stunning. We loved that we could walk from the property to the railway station. We enjoyed walks from the house as well as catching a train a few stations along then walking back. We barely used our car. There was a friendly pub in the village and a well stocked and welcoming shop. We had a high quality meal at a pub (The Postgate) in a neighbouring village and again very welcoming. We parked in Robin Hoodâs Bay and walked along the coast and headed back on the cinder track. We wished we had two weeks instead of one week there was so much to see and enjoy. I highly recommend Chapel on the Hill as a place to relax after long walks exploring the glorious North Yorkshire Moors.

Our fourth fantastic stay in these lovely properties (Chapel-on-the-Hill and Sunday Cottage).
Outstanding as always. A lovely discovery this time was the new 'Albert's Gallery' in the stunning restored Wesleyan Chapel on Church Street, Whitby. We found it too late to book an evening meal but it was great for even just a coffee and fab cheesecake. Also shows old films maybe once a fortnight. The Station Tavern in Grosmont is under new management and was closed for repairs most of the time we were here so not sure how it will have changed. We had a couple of lovely meals in The Postgate in Egton Bridge though and bumped into Andy (the old Station Tavern barman) who now works there. Great days out in Filey, Bridlington, Whitby, Scarborough and Pickering. Also cosy times in this lovely property just cooking, reading, doing jigsaws and chilling out on the rainy days. Thank you!

Excellent base to explore the area.
We managed Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Scarborough, Sandsend, Malton, Durham, York and Helmsley in the week we were there. Well appointed holiady cottage with a great kitchen area, comfortable bedrooms/lounge and bathrooms aplenty. Grosmont is lovely too, but only thing to be wary of is if you don't like driving down narrow/twisty roads, this place probably isn't for you! If you can handle that, it's a truly wonderful place to stay. The welcome gifts from the owners (cake, milk, wine - three life essentials obviously) was also a very thoughtful touch. View from the front is also spectacular. We definitely want to explore the area more (discovered some family links on the Yorkshire/Durham borders), so when we do get back up to visit the area, would be delighted to stay here again.

Our stay at Limber View was excellent the place was clean and welcoming with a drink and cake provided.
The place was fully equiped with everything you needed. The only hic-up being parking for only one car that was not so much the issue but finding a safe place to park the second car for a week. We felt the village car park was not 100% safe being on the edge of the village. We did find a more safe place to park after speaking to the staff at the Steam Railway Station they said we could park in their carpar, no need to get a daily ticket just give a donation to the railway. One car parked safely for the week we went on to have a great holiday. Views from the house were great and the many places visited. We have been to the North Yorkshire Moors for hoildays many times but we still found places and narrow lanes, fords. In all a wonderful holiday, we would visit again.
