  Myself & Hubby have just spent the most wonderful hot sunny week (9th-16th July 2022) at Rookery Hall hosted By Debbie & Ian.

  The accommodation was/is spectacular and has everything and more you could possibly wish for to make it a 5 star stay. The location was ideal for walk's with many places of interest to visit, Its on the Cotswold way with Broadway Tower, Snowshill Manor, Snowshill Lavender to name a few all just short walks away, and of course the so many beautiful villages to explore just short drives away makes it a wonderful base, or just stay and soak up the beautiful idyllic countryside and make the most of the peace & quiet. Debbie & Ian quite happy to leave you to your own devises for the duration of your stay but are also on hand if you do need anything. The thing that made our stay even more enjoyable was that fact that the property is part of a working farm (none of which interferes with your accommodation) it was lovely to see the hay making process, we got to know the family, their lovely working dogs & the history of the farm from talking to the nicest family you could wish to meet. We were sorry to leave but left feeling we had made some lovely friends and would definitely recommend Rookery Hall to anyone who enjoys a bit of the good life with a down to earth approach. We've stayed in many lovely cottages up & down the country over the years, as we always want to try somewhere new, but this place made us feel so welcome.   The directions were good and provided we followed the signs for the cattery we arrived at the front door of Cream Door without any problems.

  Access to the property was very easy without any problems as was unloading since the drive and the front door were very close. The photographs and description were accurate and it was exceptionally clean and tidy. The owners live next door and were very helpful whenever we needed any help which was only on one occasion. There is plenty of information about the house and the local area including OS maps. We found the kitchen was well equipped for our needs. The beds were comfortable and the showers worked well with plenty of hot water whenever we needed it. The heating worked well for the two evenings when it was colder than expected for the time of year. TV reception was good for terrestrial television but because of its rural location the wifi is slow but it did work for browsing and email in all areas of the house. Cream Door is close by car to the centre of Kidderminster for shopping such as a large Tesco, M&S etc and the nearest public house (Mare & Colt, 5 minutes walk or 0.3 miles in footpaths) serves good local beer and pub food. It is also a good location for visiting Worcester, the Black Country and Birmingham. All in all a great let and since we have family nearby we hope to be returning at some stage.

  The house is amazing but the setting wasn't what we expected.

  We discussed this with the owner but not much could be done once there. The garden wasn't private, situated between the owners and father's house and exposed anytime outside. No privacy screening shrubs, which could have made the side garden private instead of overlooking the owner's driveway.. As a working farm, there was lots of machinery noise and coming and goings of trucks, utes, atvs, JCB's, which meant is wasn't very peaceful. Didn't expect to have to share the driveway with the father Also didn't expect the clay shooting group of 10 plus to be in the garage adjacent for most of the day. As there is an interconnecting door into the main lounge, we were disturbed by all the noise most of the day. I think these things should be put into the listing so renters can make an informed choice about whether the situation suits them.

  An incredibly enjoyable 5 night stay at Rookery Hall!

  ! If we could give it 10 stars, we would. A beautiful, grand building, hand-crafted by the owner of the farm (a professional builder), which is spacious, warm, extremely comfortable, full of character and richly appointed. Perfectly located in a private farm with views of sheep grazing in the paddocks and pheasants roaming freely, with easy access to all the Cotswolds towns - Broadway, Chipping Campden, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Chipping Norton, and the list just goes on!! And, to top it all off, our Hosts, Debbie and Ian, and their parents Chris and Diane, were delightful people who made us feel so very welcome (thank you!!). We cannot recommend Rookery Hall highly enough and we would not hesitate to book again in the future. We loved it!!

  All in all this is a lovely place to stay.

  It was comfortable and in a great location. The double bed was very comfortable. The site is relatively quiet despite its close proximity to a main road. Generally the lodge was clean although the cups, glasses and crockery needed a dishwasher clean before use as they weren’t up to standard and handles and surfaces were sticky and needed a further clean. Our check in was 40 minutes late as when we arrived the cleaners were still there and we were told that the last guests had “left it in a right mess!” which left us feeling a little apprehensive. The lodge does need mirrors in the bedrooms as there’s nowhere really to see to dry your hair and use straighteners other than the microwave glass. Despite the small issues would we stay here again? Yes!
