  This property was lovely or so we thought at first .

  It was clean , well equipped ( although there was no bath plug , this was put right ) and well situated with beautiful views of Carbis Bay . All good , you might think . That is until you factor in the people and very large german shepherd dog permanently living in flat 10 directly below the flat 11 holiday let. Front the first evening we were forced to listen to their televisions on so loudly that we could not hear ourselves speak - seriously and this went on every day and night . Next came 6/6.30 am repeated door slammings over and over . Then during the evenings we had a nice little game lasting over an hour at a time called - bounce a tennis ball or similar on the laminate flooring throughout their flat OVER AND OVER AND OVER for the very boisterous , very large german shepherd dog . We had NO PEACE what so ever whilst we stayed in this property which was not a cheap holiday let by any means and had a completely ruined break that we had looked forward to and needed for a long time . There is absolutely no way that the owner of Gwinear ( flat 11) does not know about this and we would never have rented this holiday let had we had any inkling of what waited for us . We want to ask Sykes and the owner for a refund for our ruined Christmas break . Please get back in touch with us asap . Mrs Heather Saunders

  Our second visit to Pelagos and again the apartment was really lovely.

  Those views are just stunning. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and we have never been in an apartment so well equipped. We were warned before hand about the building work being done next door so was prepared to stay out of the apartment most of the day. Sadly for us it was the noise that came from within the building that spoilt it for us. Very heavy foot steps and loud noises very late at night and early in the morning. Also very clear loud talking and banging of doors/drawers late at night and early mornings. We are tolerant people and would accept these sounds during reasonable hours but the other occupants didn't seem to have much consideration. So for us this was not the best week. We went home feeling really tired through lack of sleep. Saying all this I don.t want to take away how really nice Pelagos as aparment is.

  Pelagos is an amazing apartment!

  The moment you enter and the magnificent view of Carbis bay beach hits you from the lounge picture window you just know you’ll enjoy your stay! Pelagos is a very luxurious apartment, subtly and stylishly decorated in very neutral colours. There is every appliance you need to have a stress free holiday! We stayed for Christmas week and the heating which is controlled independently for each room was simple to use and made it very cosy and snug! The hosts were very hospitable and provided us with tea, coffee, milk, condiments and a lovely Cornish fruit juice! A lovely touch as it was Christmas week was that there were some simple and stylish decorations in place when we arrived. But!! the icing on the cake was that view!! Looking out of that lovely picture window onto Carbis bay and beyond to St. Ives is wonderful.

  The apartment is 5 star plus and extremely clean .

  Which has to do with the house keeper Julie Hadfield especially with COVID ever thing first class. The views are out of this world we have stopped in Carbis bay for many years and are one of the best views. We have booked with carbis bay holidays many times and it has know been taken over by Sykes holidays have to say i am concerned that standards will not be the same. If I may I would like to make 2 suggestion's a hand rail up the main stairs as you turn to the flat ,when you are carrying things up and down you have to hold onto the wall. The other is a full sized ironing board when you are staying for 2 weeks you need to iron things the little one that goes on the table is not sufficient.
