  We stayed at Bagdale Cottage over the Christmas period. What an amazing property! The cottage has been recently renovated and its' old characteristics have been exposed - and enhanced - beautifully, as shown in the photo album left for guests to see. What a transformation! Absolutely beautifully renovated throughout. From the bedding, soft furnishings and furniture to the Christmas decorations - everything was high quality, making our stay in Whitby so much more enjoyable. The Christmas gifts were a lovely surprise. Everything a guest would require during their stay was provided, though guests will need to remember to bring their own shower gel/hand wash/kitchen detergents - all available locally if you do forget. Located just a minutes walk from the little cobbled streets and delightful shops that Whitby offers - this really is a fabulous little gem of a property. Highly recommended and will definitely return.

  Fantastic property.

  We adored our stay at 11 Church Street. Beautiful listed period house and had maximum comfort and everything we could possibly need. Beds and sofa very comfortable and house warm and great shower. The location is fabulous being right on the marina. No noise or annoyance from boatyard in fact it was an additional joy to watch what was happening. Double glazed bedroom windows and son delighted that he could see Whitby Museum. 5- 8 minutes walk from everything and no need to bring a car as the train arrivals and coach arrivals into whitby are very scenic and very easy to jump on a bus to anywhere. We did Staiths and RobinsHood Bay £2 ride every 30 minutes upto late at night. Supermarket also within 10 minutes walk. Hope we will return and will book 11 Church Street for sure. Loved it. The standard of house actually surpassed our expectations and attention to detail in kitchenware and textiles was appreciated.

  There is a boat building yard directly opposite the propery, obscuring views of the harbour.

  It can be very noisy from 8am until 6pm and can still ne heard with doors and windows shut. As the house is only a couple of feet from the road, and the road is narrow, it is virtually on the doorstep. This also makes parking to unload the car quite tricky as it is a busy road. I reslly do think your advertising should mention this. It is also a very dark house unless the sun is out in the afternoon. Fair enough, it's an old propery, but the photos used in your advertising show brightly lit rooms. I'm partially-sighted and good lighting is essential for me. Brighter/more lights? There is a faint smell of gas from the fire in the sitting room. Otherwise it's an excellently placed property for exploring Whitby, which we loved.

  A fabulous place to stay with everything you need, tastefully decorated and a well appointed kitchen.

  A great bonus of having the garage space downstairs for wet gear and separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Plenty of hot water & heating, showers were excellent. Wifi network is different as stated, so guest information pack should be updated accordingly. Dedicated parking outside for two cars and visitor spaces opposite. About 15 minutes walk into town and near to an excellent chipshop (Riverside Fisheries) and the Middle Earth tavern. Overall an excellent holiday, would totally recommend this venue as a place to stay. We are returning Sykes customers, and can not fault their service, finally the Welcome Pack was a lovely touch - much appreciated by the guests!

  We really enjoyed our stay here and think the cottage is quite nice, it has a modern well equipped kitchen, nice bedrooms with comfy beds, nice hot water for shower or bath , nice and warm when central heating comes on.

  Good location and only 5 mins walk to centre and good views of harbour. We did hear some banging and grinding from boat works yard opposite the cottage but it didn’t really bother us. Parking can be a problem but luckily we got a spot the first evening near the cottage on main road and left the car there for the four days we were there, and used the bus service to visit Robin hood’s bay and staithes which was a nice change from driving and only £2 each way. The only negative thing I have to say is the cleaning/dusting isn’t being done properly and l think this is letting the place down which is a shame because everything else is good
