Fantastic! The cottage had absolutely everything that we needed for our stay.
It was actually larger than we thought it would be and offered us peace, quiet and comfort coupled with being a great base to both cycle and walk. We loved the layout and enjoyed the mezzanine style lounge. Our hosts were great and they didn't interfere with our stay but made it clear that they were on hand should we need to speak to them. There are no shops in the village so forward planning was essential. Regarding properties of this size, this is by far the best we have stayed at. It was clean, well appointed, and we even arrived to find a bottle of wine and some milk - very welcome after a long journey! We were never cold as the underfloor heating was brilliant. Situated in a very private part of the farm we also had somewhere safe to park our car. We were very, very pleased with this accommodation and would visit again. The location was superb for us though possibly too remote for some. Our thanks to the owners for providing such an excellent service. Can't wait to return!

Everything about my stay at Stone Cross was excellent.
The location is idyllic and there are lots of walks straight from the cottage to the nearby villages. The cottage itself is stunning and had everything I needed for my stay. Everything was exceptionally clean and the cottage feels very light and airy. My dog particularly liked laying at the french doors and watching the world go by. Travelling alone, I am always grateful for nearby parking when having to unload bags and dog etc. and having parting right outside the property is perfect. I didn't use the outdoor area as the weekend was more walking than sunbathing weather but it was nice having an outside area that was secure and I could let the dog out in to. I will definitely be recommending the cottage to friends and family

Everything you need for your stay and just wished the weather could have allowed us to take advantage of the lovely outside space. Very large and comfortable bed with a stand alone shower in the bathroom below. Full sized fridge with freezer compartment, electric oven and hob and microwave, home from home. Ideally located to visit the impressive east coast villages such as Whitby and Staithes as well as the foodie towns of Malton and Helmsley.

The cottage was sparkling clean & furnished to a high standard and well equipped and so comfortable. The area was so peaceful with lovely walks on the doorstep and the location was great for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors & Coast. I would definitely want to go back again and would highly recommend Stone Cross. The hosts Jim & Judi were fantastic if you needed to know anything they were there, otherwise they left you alone. The welcome gift on arrival of wine, flowers and milk was a lovely surprise.

The decor, equipment and cleanliness was up to the high standard we expect from Sykes. Location is wonderful with great walks from right outside the door and moor and coast nearby. Judi the owner was very helpful in making the small enclosed garden area fully dog proof, and had provided a bottle of wine, milk and ingredients for the bread maker on arrival. Be aware that the spiral stairs are open steps which our dog wouldnât climb, so needed lifting up to the lounge area.
