  Attractive and spotlessly clean property. Lovely welcome hamper and friendly hosts. Great location. Would have given 5 stars but lots of irritating niggles. Frustratingly they were the sort of things which might become evident to the owners themselves if they were to live in the property for a week. Minor niggles only such as no mirror in the bedroom and small uncomfortable sofas but they did add up. We found the small shower rooms difficult .....the showers themselves were great but there wasn't even one small shelf upon which to place even a contact lens case in the 'ensuite'. Tiny low stools instead of bedside tables were awkward too when you have to have specs, a glass of water, a book and medication etc to hand at night. I guess if we were younger, had fewer aches and pains and better eyesight the holiday would have got 5 stars.......apologies for getting old.

  River View was amazing!

  Real home from home with everything that you could possibly need. Location is fantastic for so many places. Graham is a fantastic host and the cottage is furnished (gorgeous interior) and equipped for all your needs. A welcome pack was provided and a lot of thought was put into it for our teenagers to enjoy as well as ourselves. A prompt visit to see if we had settled in by Graham led to him giving us a bottle of processo which was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend this cottage to any family or group of friends to enjoy. The village had bakers/butchers/pharmacy and a choice of pizza, Indian and Chinese takeaway. Although a pub is next door it was very quiet at night. Would 100% return.

  Riverview is a real labour of love for Graham and Jane and it shows throughout the house, which is beautifully and perfectly furnished and equipped.

  It’s also generously supplied with all those holiday essentials that usually require a swift visit to the local convenience store on arrival - no need here with such an overflowing welcome pack! The house is in the heart of the village with local bakery, a supermarket and local restaurants within a hundred yards. There is a local pub next door but this is very well behaved and didn’t cause us problems, and our nights were peaceful and quiet. There is a beautiful patio garden too, with comfortable outdoor dining furniture. Bus service into York runs from the village, so the car can stay behind in the ample parking area. All this and a perfect week’s summer weather too!

  We really enjoyed our stay at Forge Croft. A quiet location but offering really first class accommodation. The croft was equipped with everything you could need for a relaxed break. Because the location was quiet we tended to eat in most evenings and the kitchen was equipped to a very high standard. There were plenty of places to visit within the area and access to the coast meant some very scenic and quiet driving. Peter and Faye were very informative hosts. Our only criticism would be that finding the croft was not easy as it is not separately signed. A minor point as overall we would certainly visit again in the future. Chris and Liz

  Property, clean and very well equipped.

  Cooking was easy and a pleasure. Lots of extra touches which were clearly thought out and very much enjoyed. You really do feel spoilt at this property with its extra touches and its cosy hugge vibes. Graham was on on hand with any questions about property or the area and it’s clear they both put a lot of effort into making you feel welcome. We’d visit again with no hesitation. We are also an autism family, so going away is a big deal, this place made us feel at home and a great place for us all to decompress in comfort after some busy days visiting the sites. More so than any other property to date. Thank you
