  Acorn Cottage was lovely, the owners were amazing. It was clean and tidy and comfortable and in a great location. The reason I would not recommend your site is purely down to the fact that I used your filters to have an enclosed garden. When I arrived there was no garden at all. As I was travelling with a pup this was very disappointing as the main reason I booked this was because I needed a safe space for the pup. We were situated opposite a working farm so I was constantly worrying in case pup ran out and indeed shot by the farmer as is his right to do so. I re-read the advert of this property on your site and it also mentions plans to have a patio area with furniture at Acorn Cottage, which it did not. The property faces directly onto the driveway so there would be no space at all for any such patio area. Overall, I have no complaints with the property expect if I had known it did not have an enclosed garden I would never have booked it. The owners were fantastic and I would recommend the property to anyone, but not through your website unfortunately.

  Tawny Owl is a lovely cottage furnished to a high standard and with every piece of equipment and fittings you could ever want. It was ideal for our 9 month old grandson as everything is on one level and both cot and highchair were of high quality. We very much appreciated the extra touch of a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates in addition to tea, coffee and milk ready for our first brew on arrival. The hot tub was also appreciated at the end of a busy day visiting the area. We also very much enjoyed going to Runswick Bay which is very close to the cottage (about 5 minutes drive). Liz was very welcoming, helpful and prompt with any query we had. Although close to the main road, the cottage offers plenty of parking space which was an essential for us with baby equipment and there is easy access to Staithes by foot from the cottage (about 20 minute walk).

  We stayed at Thornwick Cottage for the Staithes Arts Festival - great central position in the village. Very spacious, and had everything we required. Made good use of the log burner, although not cold in the cottage, it was a lovely treat for the evenings - appreciated the logs left in the basket for us to start with. Staithes is absolutely lovely- loads of history- everyone so friendly and helpful. Fantastic coastal walks on your doorstep. The harbour is great place to be around. Staithes has good links to the local bus service, so you do not need to use the car. Our stay allowed us to get away from the noisy rush of everyday life and just enjoy Yorkshire.

  First class property just as described, met by a lovely lady at the arranged time who went through the property with us. Nothing only praise for the property and surroundings, a massive well done and thank you. Excellent doesn't do it justice, perfect would be a more apt response! The cottage and the whole property in general exceeded our expectations in leaps and bounds! Liz and family are such accommodating people and made our stay so much more comfortable. We will definitely be returning in the future.

  The cottage is in a great location for access to beautiful beaches along the coast all a few minutes drive away. The 3-4 cottages are tightly packed together around the shared games room, and adjacent to the owners’ property on a very quiet long narrow single track road. The setting feels remote but not private. The meadow opposite is lovely, and there are plenty of footpaths to explore. The enclosed garden of Catkin cottage is a small courtyard with a low wall, overlooked by other gardens and the road.
