What our customers say about their holidays

We had a wonderful stay at Twitchers Rest.
The coastal location is lovely. You have a fabulous view overlooking the sea from the living room and main bedroom. We left the windows open to enjoy the relaxing sound of the waves. The house is extremely well kitted out with all the crockery, cutlery and pans you could possibly need. There are also books and board games. The owner left a lovely welcome gift of wine and chocolates which was very much appreciated. Although there is not allocated parking, we were able to park directly outside the house every day (even though the town carnival was on at the time). There is a lovely promenade along the sea shore which can be accessed directly outside the property. We enjoyed following the 'monkey sign' trail to learn more about Hartlepool. We would also recommend the Royal Navy National Museum for a local day out. Be sure to visit 'The Copper Kettle' for an amazing breakfast/lunch. Twitchers Rest was a good base for travelling to Durham, Newcastle and Whitby, which all have English Heritage properties to visit.

We only stayed one night out of three, the lighting outside the property is terrible, we arrived when it was dark and struggled to use the key box to obtain the door key, the door key is a struggle to open the door.
There was a very bad damp smell on arrival into the property, bedding was dirty and stained, there was full damp absorbing tubs, there was a lot of dust on the window sill in the bathroom and the surfaces were grubby. Outside the property there are a lot of weeds which could be a tripping hazard. There could be a light placed above the door. Positive points - the owner is very approachable, was very good at sorting problems we pointed out the day after we arrived. the bed itself was comfy, there was mattress protectors and pillow protectors, downstairs sofas are very comfortable, the kitchen is good quality and well laid out, thereâs teas and coffee sachets. The heating system is very effective. The place could benefit from curtains in the bedroom to block out the light outside shining into the room, and a few more homely touches upstairs.

We have had a lovely holiday at Twitchers Cottage.
The cottage is situated in a wonderful place with amazing sounds & views of the sea. The only thing that we found was we couldn't open the windows in the front bedroom or lounge to let some fresh air in. They were locked & and there were no keys to be found anywhere, also the vertical blind had a slat missing in the lounge. The cottage could have been cleaner / tidier in places. The bathroom door is grubby on the inside & the kitchen cupboard / drawers would benefit from sorting out. Lots of things abandoned in them! The kitchen outside door shuts but leaves a gap to the outside & the door into the kitchen from the lounge doesn't shut as not fitted properly. Plus the back bedroom door doesn't shut properly either. I mention these things as the owner may not be aware. We enjoyed our stay & would return to this peaceful cosy cottage.

We spent a few thoroughly enjoyable nights at this splendid apartment.
The property is truly five star in terms decor, furnishings, comfortable beds and a wonderful welcome pack. Our host was friendly and thoughtful too in every aspect: from key collection, arranging parking permits and even providing fresh flowers and home grown tomatoes as a special touch on our arrival. Guisborough itself is a delightful little town, with a great selection of eateries and independent shops. The abbey is well worth a visit too. The location is great, as the fabulous Yorkshire coast is just a stones throw away, including quaint little Staithes, fabulous Whitby and beautiful Runswick Bay. Well worth visiting all of them. We will definitely return and would highly recommend to others looking for a special stay in a great little place.

This was our second visit to N0 10 and once again it was outstanding.
We visit the area a number of times a year to visit family and friends and over the last 25 years have stayed at most of the areas hotels and holiday lets and this is, in our view, by far the best. The apartment is so comfortable and well apointed with everything you could need, stylish and instantly feels like home and with its location just off the main steeet is just ideal. It benifits from easy resedent parking too. Kim, owner, adds some nice touches, welcome pack, logs for the fire and makes you feel right at home. We stayed between Christmas and New Year and she added some great Christmas decorations and a Christmas Tree to make the holiday very special, we felt sad having to leave.
