  Wow first impression spotlessly clean and smells lovely, inside and out has the wow factor.

  Parking literally just outside the enclosed back patio perfect for our furboy met by Julia owner who went through need to know basics welcome gift basket of tea coffee milk and biscuits and fresh flowers a very nice touch. Upstairs 2 very large bedrooms and bathroom also separate toilet downstairs which was perfect for us oldies. The best welcome information folder I have seen explains all the questions I would have asked. Beds are super comfy best I’ve slept on beautiful decor throughout with gorgeous soft furnishings very cozy. Luxurious m&s towels sheets and top quality pots pans cutlery lots of books games and Netflix the area is perfect for touring Scarborough Whitby Pickering and beautiful villages May cottage is just stunningly beautiful credit to Julia and Michael if we had one comment it would be the settees are a little low down for us oldies but don’t take that away from everything else and thank you so much for letting us stay in your fabulous cottage we will definitely return.   Well-furnished property in a quiet street very close to Scarborough Castle and walking distance to all amenities.

  Friendly neighbours who are happy to advise on tourist spots to visit. The kitchen is supplied with very good quality crockery and saucepans and a Tassimo machine. The only ingredients available were salt and pepper shakers, a small bottle of olive oil would have been helpful. The beds are extremely comfortable although the smaller room was a tight squeeze with two large single beds. Washing machine and clothes horse in the utility room is a bonus, although a laundry basket would have been handy here. The only real let down was the bathroom. The cheap-as-chips one-ply toilet roll only lasted a couple of days which meant we were improvising by day three! The malfunctioning liquid dispenser needs to be replaced ASAP and where was the bath mat? All these things could be rectified easily and would have made the holiday rental 5-stars.

  We had a very good holiday.

  The cottage was full of character and tastefully decorated, with lovely artwork done by the owner. The views from the upstairs windows were delightful and we loved the wide window sills with ornaments and plants. The upstairs had a very cosy feel and the downstairs kitchen and bathroom was spacious and well equipped. The cottage is in a perfect location for those who enjoy walking and wildlife. The cliffs are a short walk away and we saw lots of birds, hares and deer. Unfortunately there was a problem with the heating and hot water (a new system has recently been installed), but the owner was very helpful and tried very hard to get it resolved, although this proved difficult. However, despite this we hope to return in the future as we liked the cottage and the area very much.

  Had a really lovely week at The Hayloft.

  This property is in a great location for visiting the local area . We walked the Cleveland way to Scarborough, cycled to Ravenscar. Bought the original smoked kippers in Whitby , found fossils in staithes . Due to Covid 19 rules the local pubs were closed and although we managed to eat out a few times we mainly cooked at the cottage . It had a pantry full of every kind of pot and pans etc. Lovely to wake up and see the sun glistening on the sea every morning was a definite bonus . We had a heating / boiler problem over the bank holiday weekend. We called the owner who swiftly got the problem solved that afternoon. We really loved staying at this cottage and is great value for money . Would highly recommend.

  No heating.

  No hot water .no games room .washing machine broken .garden area not like in photos at all it is now all feel fenced off communal gate into cottage shared by 3 other cottages all neighbouring cottages gave us abuse for staying told us to leave big arguments with neighbours that apparently has been goin on years they want the cottage holiday let to be shut down so you basically feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable. Owners cottage is actually joined onto the hayloft .no privacy .no parking .get told to move your car constantly by text messages. Awful to stay in the middle of a neighbouring argument one lady even through apples through an open window at us and shouted get back to the city .we left early and came home .
