What our customers say about their holidays

I have had the most wonderful stay at the wagon house .
Trudi and Sam are perfect hosts and the cottage had every possible home comfort , with great attention to detail. Trudi is very creative and itâs a very nice touch that her nature focused embroidery and art work complement the decor . I liked the mushrooms and pheasant especially . Iâve already let them know how much my stay meant to me , and will definitely be returning there . Peace, quiet, comfort , beautiful surroundings ( which have helped me to relax and recuperate- so needed ), deep sleep due to the quiet and lack of light pollution, lots for me to enjoy nature wise with my camera were all highlights and Iâve come away feeling far better after only a few short days. It is in Lovely locality with super walks directly from the cottage ( this time a help to me as I didnât have my car with me ) to the local church at Lezant ( medieval, beautiful ) , and quaint Cornish cottages everywhere a photographers delight but the lake and woodland walk available to the cottage ( as are all the grounds and gardens ) were delightful. Iâd hoped to see their kingfisher but I think it was a tad too cold this time of year to sit at the birdwatching seat too long. ( spring summer and autumn would be perfick for this ). The adorable book nook ( which is a cute steepled little brick alongside the cottage , with a stained glass window and seat in to sit in at any time of day or night ( there is a light ) absolutely enchanted me . I did again sit in for a while but too cold ( below freezing ) this particular stay for a long read. The cottage was very comfortable and warm . Lots provided to do of an evening too with the well stocked book shelf and games. WiFi dependable too. All in all a marvellous stay , I had a couple of queries whilst there which were very easily sorted. Trudis delicious home made scones and jam and the wine in the welcome pack were much appreciated ( hubby enjoyed the scones and I enjoyed the jams over several days - the crabapple jelly being especially yummy ). Thank you Trudi and sam for making me so welcome. See you soon liz .

We arrived for a short break to attend a family funeral, Trudie said we were able to arrive earlier than the published time and met us on arrival to show us around and how things worked.
One of my sons arrived much later in the evening and was only able to stay one night, due to workcommitments. Trudie showed us where he could park. The property is on the owner's grounds, just before you get to their house. It has it's own courtyard directly outside the back door, which looks out onto a folly set up as a reading room. The cottage was large, nicely laid out and we felt at home and comfortable straight away. The kitchen had everything you could ever need. The beds were comfortable and loads of towels were supplied. Having the conservatory was a dream and it didn't stop the views from the lounge. The views were spectacular, over looking a beautiful lake. We were allowed to walk the dog around the lake and fields if we wanted to. We walked her around the lake and she had a few paddles which she loved. The welcome pack of homemade scones, jam and cream and a bottle of wine was very much appreciated. Trudie made us feel very welcome, even coming over to see how the funeral went. We enjoyed our stay (apart from the circumstances) very much and the weather was good, the grounds lovely, so we didn't feel the need to travel around, we were happy to stay and just relax. We would love to return again in the future. Trudie, thank you so much.

Had a wonderful stay at the Wagon House.
We had pretty awful weather, but the little house was very homely, warm and comfortable and it was actually quite nice watching the wind and rain from the comfy sofa! The new bathroom refit had literally just been completed when we got there, so there was a little bit of residue building dust but nothing of any concern and the house was otherwise clean and tidy. Very impressed with the well equipped kitchen (so nice to go somewhere and find little everyday things tin foil, washing up liquid and pegs!). Bedding was impressively soft and warm despite very low temperatures for the first couple of days. Enjoyed a couple of lake walks when not raining, the site is well maintained with a good path around most of it, though walking boots or wellies needed after the rain. Must say that the Wi-Fi was very good and strong and had no problems with signal at all. Scones and jam (and wine!) were very tasty and well received, thank you. Trudi and Sam were very warm and welcoming in a very unobtrusive way. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and would be very happy to stay again when next in that area.

We were very, very happy renting Little Trespettigue for a week over the New Year.
As parents, we loved it, and so did our two girls, especially due to the many birds, dogs, cats, horses and sheep, lots of life to enjoy seeing around, and the huge forest to explore just nearby! We absolutely enjoyed having a fireplace to set alight at the end of every wet and cold day. We were surprised by the facilities (especially for cooking) provided, we are so used to not having useful pans that we always bring our own, and this time that was absolutely not necessary! One thing that we could perhaps suggest to improve: waste management (e.g. green/brown, blue, black bins, ashes), although this must probably be dealt with at the community level if no facilities to separately collect these are presently provided. Simon (unfortunately Beverly was not around when we were there) was extremely friendly and helpful and we were very impressed by the generous welcome pack.

This was our second stay at Jane's Place.
We stayed on the hottest week of the year and really appreciated the coolness of the very old house-as did our little dog Harry who hates the heat. The pond was wonderful-you walk down the beautiful garden into this wonderfully sculptured paradise that is surrounded by trees which kept us sheltered and cool all week whilst fishing. The beds and sofas were very comfortable, the shower was great and the cooker easy to use. The only minor niggle was the WIFI signal-very poor and you can't get an unbroken 4G signal in the house and it isn't a smart TV so anyone wanting to screencast from a phone is out of luck. If you have kids you might need to bring extra games for entertainment. Very clean and tidy and the flowers are a lovely touch. Brian, Ginette and Inky were great hosts and we would be happy to stay again in the future.
