What our customers say about their holidays

I have had the most wonderful stay at the wagon house .
Trudi and Sam are perfect hosts and the cottage had every possible home comfort , with great attention to detail. Trudi is very creative and itâs a very nice touch that her nature focused embroidery and art work complement the decor . I liked the mushrooms and pheasant especially . Iâve already let them know how much my stay meant to me , and will definitely be returning there . Peace, quiet, comfort , beautiful surroundings ( which have helped me to relax and recuperate- so needed ), deep sleep due to the quiet and lack of light pollution, lots for me to enjoy nature wise with my camera were all highlights and Iâve come away feeling far better after only a few short days. It is in Lovely locality with super walks directly from the cottage ( this time a help to me as I didnât have my car with me ) to the local church at Lezant ( medieval, beautiful ) , and quaint Cornish cottages everywhere a photographers delight but the lake and woodland walk available to the cottage ( as are all the grounds and gardens ) were delightful. Iâd hoped to see their kingfisher but I think it was a tad too cold this time of year to sit at the birdwatching seat too long. ( spring summer and autumn would be perfick for this ). The adorable book nook ( which is a cute steepled little brick alongside the cottage , with a stained glass window and seat in to sit in at any time of day or night ( there is a light ) absolutely enchanted me . I did again sit in for a while but too cold ( below freezing ) this particular stay for a long read. The cottage was very comfortable and warm . Lots provided to do of an evening too with the well stocked book shelf and games. WiFi dependable too. All in all a marvellous stay , I had a couple of queries whilst there which were very easily sorted. Trudis delicious home made scones and jam and the wine in the welcome pack were much appreciated ( hubby enjoyed the scones and I enjoyed the jams over several days - the crabapple jelly being especially yummy ). Thank you Trudi and sam for making me so welcome. See you soon liz .

The cottage is comfortable, clean and well-equipped; there was always lots of very hot water and the shower ran consistently.
The fridge is very small and we couldnât fit everything in that we wanted to. The small lounge is cosy and soon warms up with the electric fire. The sofa and armchairs are comfortable and better than those we find in many rental properties. The bed is comfortable and we slept well. It was good to have a CD player as we didnât want to watch TV all the time. The Wifi signal was very weak and inconsistent such that the connection was often dropped, though this was less of a problem in the bedroom. However, the data speed was reasonable. The cream tea on arrival was much appreciated and the jam was delicious. The location is delightful and peaceful and the garden with its huge pond is beautiful and a lovely place to sit when the weather is nice, which it was most of the time. Access from the nearby A30 is quick and, although the last half mile is a single track lane with only one passing place, we only once encountered another car. Arriving on the A30 from the east necessitates a right turn across the busy dual carriageway and similarly if one wants to travel west after leaving the property; the road is often very busy and we had to wait several minutes for a gap in the traffic on some occasions. We had an excellent lunch at the Eliot Arms in Tregadillett and a good value steak dinner at the Archer Arms in Lewannick, to which we walked despite the long 1 in 7 hill (total walking time about 30 minutes). Tuesday is their steak night and, although it was quiet, we were told itâs advisable to book. There are plenty of nice places to visit by car and the Cheesewring, easily accessed from Minions on the east flank of Bodmin Moor, is a remarkable geological feature worth seeing. We had an excellent week with good, dry weather and loved the practical but peaceful location.

Lovely barn conversion very spacious and light.
Well equipped and dog friendly! Quite central for touring the local area and lovely pub within walking distance which serves very good food! The secure rear garden area is also brilliant for enjoying the sun and eating outside as well as great for our four legged friends! Brilliant having two double bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs for anyone with mobility issues as well as the downstairs walk in shower and w.c. The kitchen is well equipped and laid out with everything you need! We personally found our mattress a little soft as we both need firm to orthopaedic but nothing ever compares to your own bed unfortunately! Maybe a safety gate would be an asset on the stairs for children/ dogs although we improvised with two stools! The locals we met were friendly and helpful, the moors are a five minute drive away and large supermarket ten minutes drive away too. We did notice that some drivers come off the A30 into the village at speed worth bearing in mind if you have young children although the same happen in our local village too! Nice touch was milk biscuits and a bottle of plonk in the fridge! Our weather was nice which obviously helped but two tvâs if it rains ! The main bedroom upstairs is lovely with great views and a very large custom made wooden bed ! Could be problems deciding who has this room lol

We arrived for a short break to attend a family funeral, Trudie said we were able to arrive earlier than the published time and met us on arrival to show us around and how things worked.
One of my sons arrived much later in the evening and was only able to stay one night, due to workcommitments. Trudie showed us where he could park. The property is on the owner's grounds, just before you get to their house. It has it's own courtyard directly outside the back door, which looks out onto a folly set up as a reading room. The cottage was large, nicely laid out and we felt at home and comfortable straight away. The kitchen had everything you could ever need. The beds were comfortable and loads of towels were supplied. Having the conservatory was a dream and it didn't stop the views from the lounge. The views were spectacular, over looking a beautiful lake. We were allowed to walk the dog around the lake and fields if we wanted to. We walked her around the lake and she had a few paddles which she loved. The welcome pack of homemade scones, jam and cream and a bottle of wine was very much appreciated. Trudie made us feel very welcome, even coming over to see how the funeral went. We enjoyed our stay (apart from the circumstances) very much and the weather was good, the grounds lovely, so we didn't feel the need to travel around, we were happy to stay and just relax. We would love to return again in the future. Trudie, thank you so much.

A fabulous clean, warm and comfortable holiday home for 8 people, which is right off the A30 about 10 mins drive from Launceston and the nearest supermarket.
Because of the very close proximity to the A30 it is ideally located for visiting places around Devon and Cornwall, St Ives being just 1 hour away. Around the house there is wall art with place names beneath, which gave us plenty of ideals of places to visit, which we thought was a lovely touch. The house has a lovely big secure back garden (although there is a low gate around the side, so if you have a dog that likes to discover ways to escape, just be careful, saying that they do have to go around the house to get there). The back garden could do with an outside light though for the dark evenings. As mentioned before, a baby gate on the wooden stairs would be a good idea, to keep dogs from exploring upstairs. The kitchen is well equipped, although another big frying pan would be handy for a large group of people and some more forks. More storage would be handy in the bedrooms too. We had the only wardrobe in the house (ground floor), the two upstairs bedrooms had drawers but the other ground floor bedroom didn't have any storage for clothes and our son lived out of his suitcase for the week. We loved our stay here and would definitely come back to stay again.
