What our customers say about their holidays
Robert - Verified booking
First glances, the property was lovely - just as it was portrayed.
However, things started to go wrong almost immediately. I tried both contact numbers given to me as I had an issue with not being able to use the 'smart' TVs - the first number was unavailable, and I left a voicemail on the second number (Malcolm or Matthew?), requesting a call back, which I never got. So, for the whole holiday, we were only able to use the TVs as normal, terrestrial sets. Not a major thing, but the fact that no-one could be bothered to ring us back got me quite angry - and that's when the other faults started to raise their head (remember, one returned call would have sorted all of these issues). Below is a list, in no particular order: We were unable to use the gas hob â the safety lock had been engaged, but the knob to release it was broken off (it looked like this had been gone for some time, and that various attempts had been made to glue something to do it) â so, oven cooking only. There was an unpleasant smell in the property; on the day we arrived, a plumber gained access to replace something in the upstairs toilet, as he said the smell had been reported previously â this obviously didnât fix it. Bird Poo â I know this is a major issue in the park, due to House Martins nesting in the eaves of the properties; however, I didnât expect to have to âjumpâ over the doorstep because it was covered in this stuff â there was nothing available to clean it with â I didnât pay the sort of money charged, just to have to clean poo away every day, anyway. Finally, there was the outside décor; this property did not look like it had been painted for a while, and there was a lot of peeling paint. Also, there were broken boards on the panel at the front â one ripped off and lying on the ground, and 2 or 3 others hanging off.

We booked this cottage as a last minute change to our original holiday due to the ongoing Covid restrictions and we weren't disappointed.
The cottage is amazing! We met the owners who live next door who were extremely welcoming and left us a lovely bottle of wine on our arrival. The property offers everything you need and more. The decor is a very high standard and presented beautifully with lovely touches making it feel very warm and welcoming. The views from the outside upper terrace are superb and go on for miles. The photos of the cottage on the website really don't do the property justice and we were surprised by how spacious it was. The kitchen area is fantastic and extremely well equipped. The lounge area is very comfortable and roomy, with the added bonus of a large dining table next to the double doors leading to the upper terrace. There is ample, comfortable furniture on the terrace with a gas BBQ. Both large bedrooms have the own superb walk-in shower rooms with rain showers with the master having a slightly larger one. The cottage has it's own driveway and rear garden, perfect for children or dogs as it's quite well enclosed and planted out beautifully. Conveniently located for access to many outstanding beaches, shops, restaurants and other adventures on offer in Cornwall. The village the cottage is located in, St Columb Major, is within 5 minutes walking distance and offers a Co-op, butchers, pubs and handy other services. We will definitely be back as we can't commend the owners enough for providing such a truly lovely holiday home.

A Cornish holiday cottage that exceeds expectations at every level!
Incredibly comfortable beds and bedding and well thought through en-suite bathrooms in each, through to the upstairs living area that ticks every box with many impressive finishing touches. Through to a door to the upstairs large balcony and relaxing furniture. Finally views across the Cornish countryside from your balcony and upstairs windows that can include a stunning sunset. The outdoor garden area is also extensive, well kept and great to relax in. Situated in a location that removes you completely from what can be a busy part of Cornwall and allows time to relax, with a wonderful owner next door that is there if you need anything but equally leaves you to completely enjoy your break undisturbed. For those with an EV, itâs located ten minutes from Kingsley Village and a plethora of high speed chargers alongside an M&S, Boots etc The location in North Cornwall is perfect and in established reach of within 15-20 minutes of the north coast beaches,Newquay,Padstow and Wadebridge. Having stayed in Cornish cottages for the last ten years this is by far the familyâs favourite, so much so weâve booked to return this summer.

Fantastic week in a lovely cottage with brilliant views.
We have just returned from a week at the Coach House. For us it perfectly met what we wanted from start to finish. Itâs in a great location with access to some great north coast beaches less than 25 minutes away but still close enough to the South coast for easy access. The views were great and the layout means you get to enjoy these during the day. We found the cottage to be perfectly kitted out with everything we needed and clean. The upstairs balcony is a great idea but we only got to enjoy it on a couple of evenings as the weather tended to turn wet later in the afternoons during our stay. With good weather this is the perfect place to spend an evening. The owner was friendly and on hand if we needed anything without being intrusive. Finally a special mention for the butchers bakehouse in Columb St Major. What a fantastic place this is. The cakes and croissants are amazing and although we didnât buy any bread from here it also looked fantastic. All in all after 18 months of Covid restrictions this was the ideal cottage, location and place in the world to have a safe and enjoyable holiday :)

This property was great.
Two couples one with mobility problems. So the downstairs bedroom and bathroom worked well. We also took our young springer spaniel and he was settled too. All Was Very clean, kitchen well stocked with most things you need for cooking. Sitting area downstairs good for daytime, upstairs used during the evening. We found the location enabled us to access local attractions on both coasts. A lovely relaxing break. We were very lucky with the too which helped! It would be helpful to have local information available, away resorts didn't give us their pack, but we collected one and left it behind, also a visitors book were recommendations could be left would be good. We loved birds of prey, which was just a few miles away. We had a lovely visit to Padstow Trerice national trust property was great, fabulous afternoon tea offer! Watergate beach was beautiful. We had a drink at the beach hut the food looked and smelt amazing, but booking is essential! St Austell as a place to visit us is rubbish but the beaches along that coast are beautiful we are told!
