  We had a fabulous stay at The Ridge. The service from start to finish from Cornish Horizons has been amazing, Tom form the Fowey office even went down to the cottage to meet our Asda driver as we had been stuck in traffic in a very long journey! A-star customer service. The house is beautiful, it was spotlessly clean, every thing you needed for the week was in the cottage and the views speak for themselves! We loved having our morning coffee and evening wine in the conservatory! My niece (aged 2 years) loved the baby seagull that hatched on the roof while we were there! She named him Barry and even got a teddy seagull to take home to remind her of Barry!!! We will be back!!!

  The Ridge was brilliant - clean, tasteful, well equipped with truly amazing views and true to the description. One of our party is rather less mobile but the layout meant she only lad to use stairs at start and end of the day or to go out. She used the exit from the bedroom with the balcony as internal stairs were easier than external steps. The Lugger was friendly and had excellent menu. There was a small amount of parking at the harbour- useful as unmade road to house was not wheelchair friendly (coupled with steep roads down to harbour). All in all - a gem of a property and location.

  Spectacular location with amazing views and unforgettable walks right from the door. Not much in the village/without driving but the ferry over to Fowey is a great fun way to access amenities. Not that it impacted our enjoyment of the property much but, for the information of others booking, the decor is a bit dated and in places things could do with replacing/updating (e.g. sofas, beds) for that bit of additional comfort but it’s a lovely spacious house that had everything we needed and was very clean, spacious and a homely place to spend a week with our young family.

  I felt the property just missed being that something special. House felt cold and soulless. Little simple comforts missing that we have always had with other Cornish homes. Throws on the setee for cold evenings, rug by the fire with a basket of wood ready. Chair in the bedroom to put your clothes on instead of the floor. No mirror near a plug to dry your hair in the main bedroom. Impossible small shower with no escape from the water. No scones waiting after a long journey! Too much emphasis on supplying every utensil known, missing the touches that bring you back.

  The views of the Atlantic from the living room and 2 main bedrooms are amazing. We sat and watched the boats and yachts every day. It was very comfortable and had everything you could want or need from a holiday home. We visited Looe on a number of occasions and found walkways we didn't know existed from previous holidays, one by the coast overlooking Looe Island. Polperro is also well worth a visit. You have to park outside and walk into the village as it's too small for traffic. Overall a lovely house and we would definitely consider rebooking.
